| The Jimmy Valentine Quartet |
| The Jimmy Valentine Quartet is a newly formed band in the Quad City area. The Quad City area is located on the Mississippi River with the major cities being Davenport and Bettendorf, IA and Rock Island and Moline, IL. All the musicians in the band are professional with many years experience. The band plays music in the style of Pete Fountain, Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw. In fact Jim Valentine's clarinet tone is very similar to Pete Fountain's "fat mellow" sound. Stan Rynott |

| Comments about the band: |
| I want to inform you about the Jimmy Valentine Quartet, which is gaining area wide acclaim for their music. They specialize in classic jazz and old favorites from the 30s and 40s, which are much appreciated by the plus 60 generation. This is the kind of music we like to dance to, or just listen to.
In my opinion, (and others), Jim is one of the best clarinet players in the area. The accopanying players are extremely proficient and blend into the best group I have ever listened to! Richard Withenbury |
| Check this site every so often for news on where you can hear the band and other events the band is involved in. Contact me if you would like to book the band. |
| The standard configuration of the band is the Quartet - clarinet, piano, bass and drums. The Dixieland configuration is the Quintet, adding Rich Atwood on cornet. Rich fits in with the band very nicely and gives us the ability to play more Dixieland songs plus other types of music. |
