| There is gold there at the end of the rainbow I�ve seen it sparkle close to me I would love to have it all you see For it is all I could want for me Seems we all chase rainbows in our lives Searching for the wealth found at the end there Always looking for the end to draw near Wanting all that glitters, turned over to our care Sometimes I wonder if I�ve missed the point It�s the rainbow itself that is in our site Have I failed to see the beauty of it there? Hovering so majestic in the sky so fair This is a question that rings inside my head To chase it now for all that it�s worth Or to enjoy the beauty of its sky bound berth Appearing so close but a step to far And then there are the days you see All we have are the memories Rainbows never stay continually They seem to come and go as they please So for me it seems in the end Reinebows are kept more in the mind of the heart For in the sky they wonder far, too far to see I never know when up there she will appear to me ~ Jim Ferrell |
