Relations with other NationsCountries like Indonesia should allow the interior segments to develop in their own way, with the national government providing international relations an a currency and a judicial process for the differences between the parts. Burma, China, indeed country after country, autonomy within, one voice, without. That allows ethnic and religions and linguistic groups to mature separately while maintaining national coherency as a whole. It is not that different than the way states within our union are different. Granted that the differences will be larger in these other countries, but that's only because of the slavish adherence to 'ethnic' purity. If the people themselves would mingle freely than the best of all would be spread around. The US should move towards equal relations with all nations, based on their level of democracy and civil society. If we expect a terrorist attack from these core countries, Iraq, Iran, North Korea, they we should seek to change those regimes. For they are like spoiled kids ruining the picnic for everyone else. Why should we American give up rights so as to persevere the privilege of foreigners coming here and allow these corrupt repressive regimes the chance to live another day. Our relations with countries should include a proviso that education in these countries be academic, with out the politics, the religion and the hate they engender. A consistent drumbeat of bringing entrepreneurialsim, pluralism open markets rule of paw, property rights, all based on the US constitution and the Declaration of Independence, which are timeless documents for the entire world. |
