George M. Dolenz II was born March 8,1945 in Los Angeles,CA. His father was an actor who starred in the 1950s TV series "The Count of Monte Cristo." In 1955 Micky was a child actor for Columbia Pictures/Screen Gems TV billed as Mickey Braddock portraying "Corky" (the lead role) in the Saturday morning live action series "Circus Boy" which ran on NBC in the late 1950s..Micky was(and still is)the zany screwball comedian of the group and was the one who always made me laugh the most. After leaving the band in 1971,Micky did cartoon voices for Hanna-Barbera(remember "Funky Phanton"?)and other animated film companies. He also portrayed Vince Fontaine in the onstage revival of "Grease" in the 1990s.He also acted and sang in the opera "Aida" and briefly lived a boyhood dream of being a radio dick jockey in 2003 when he teamed up with "Cousin Bruce" Morrow and others when he was the morning air personality at New York's top rated oldies station WCBS-FM before it abruptly switched to the jockless and absurd "JACK" musical potporri format in 2005..Today Micky is a succesful artist and Broadway actor and has directed and produced several TV shows in England and the U.S. including "Boy Meets World" for Disney/ABC His daughter Ami is also a succesful actress. |
