| The car is now home. I had the shop take the quarter through priming. They also applied rust proofing within all unseen areas. |
| Five coats of Dupont solar red acrylic lacquer were applied in my garage. After the paint shown in this picture dried three days, it was wet sanded with progressively finer grit 3M paper from 600 to 1200 to 2000. Finally, coumpounding with 3M Perfect-It III Rubbing Compound, 3M Perfect-IT III Machine Glaze and a few spots with 3M Finess-It. GM trunk spatter paint was applied within the trunk area. |

| During reassembly of the parts I had to elongate the two bumper bolt holes somewhat forward to get a better fit. And, the stamping company had drilled the upper level chevron holes about 1/8 inch too low so they too were elongated.. The lower were perfect and the chrome lined up perfectly. A friend used a micrometer to compare the metal thickness of the factory original of .035 and the stamping of .033. So the new is close to the original thickness. |
| The well was cleaned, scraped, primed and shot with PreservaTek TM asphalt undercoat from Classic Industries. The factory used a more textured asphalt but this is the closest I've found to date. Three spray cans covered the four wells |
| The trunk area was shot with GM brand spatter paint from NPD. One of my rear bumper supports was missing so I found a used replacement at Chicago Muscle Cars. |
