'68 Firebird Front End Restoration
During the spring of 2003 the "nose" was restored. Here's the new nose:
With the nose off the AC condenser fins could be straightened, the radiator support and adjacent hardware touched up, and the area inside the front fenders could be restored.
Many of the parts were cleaned, rustproofed with POR15, and painted in my basement.  Incl; hood latch assy., bumper brackets, horns, frame brackets, supports, bumper fillers, etc.  The vibration dampener brackets are new.
The valance panel was strightened and restored to like-new shape. New fender extensions were purchased since the originals were a combo of patch metal, rust, and bondo. All three parts were primed and painted with solar red Dupont Acrylic Lacquer.
The bumper, 400 emblem, and bolt hardware is new.  I may have my old bumper rechromed some day.  I am not thrilled with the quality of the new repo one.
The headlamp buckets are POR15 gray treated. Rings, grills and hardware was cleaned. Bumper fillers are cleaned and ArmorAll treated.
