What is your favorite web site (only choose one)? www.google.com because of its extensive research capability.

What distance learning topics that you are interested in? Briefly describe. Learning and Teaching Online Skills.

Describe (in three or less sentences) your definition of distance learning. For me, Distance Learning occurs when the student and instructor are not face-to-face. This could occur through written correspondence, film, online, e-mail, and even on the telephone, etc.

Describe (in three or less sentences) the type of learner you are? I am an introvert, intuitive, feeling, perceptive (INFJ) student according to the Myers Briggs Inventory. I am still exploring the implications of this profile for me.

Describe an ultimate, perfect distance learning course in three or four sentences. An ultimate, perfect distance learning course would give the student seamless access to distance learning without the hassles of rebook ordering, so that nearly 100% of the time can be devoted to the learning process.

Describe (in three or less sentences) an ultimate learning environment for studying in distance education setting:

Where do you usually study in a distance education setting? The environment would be my home with Internet book and online materials.

Describe (in three or less sentences) your worst or least favorable distance learning experience? Translating the instructor's changing course objectives in developing course materials.

Describe (in three or less sentences) why you are taking this class. (You can not say it is required.) I want to learn about various ways to make distance learning seamlessly available to students.

How and when did you first hear about distance learning/distance education? I was at a foreign language conference when e-mail and written correspondence were the sole means of communication for distance learning communication between instructor and students.

Do distance education courses require less work or more work? Explain your answer. For me the student, the workload beyond the initial course mechanics is about the same for online or in class learning. However, online courses usually provide greater ready access to online resources elsewhere. For example, there is not the burden of going to the physical library for ERIC catalogues.

Why have distance learning course become increasingly popular? Some courses are flexible to meet the student's busy schedule. Some students feel that they do not need the face-to-face interaction with instructor and fellow students. However, I do not know if the corresponding attrition rate remains as high in Internet courses as in classroom training.

What distance learning courses would you be interested in taking? Foreign Language training with film streaming and voice recognition for encouraging proficiency in listening and speech skills and Instructional Technology courses in developing online training. How would you improve distance learning courses? I would try to provide foreign language training with the latest film streaming and voice recognition techniques.

Describe your computer skills in three or four sentences? I have taken courses in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). I have developed limited WebPages, including a Virtual Reality site. I do not have computer hardware repair skills.

Describe your familiarity with the Internet and the WWW in three or four sentences? As a Training Developer for Paramedic Courses, I enjoy using the Internet and the WWW for researching medically related topics. I also use the WWW to find German language sites for practice. I often use the WWW in exploring other cultures.
