When we returned to Nebraska we stayed at Camp A Way campgrounds on the northwest side of Lincoln

While camped in Lincoln we visited Schramm Park. The aquarium there is excellent.

We had not been to Schramm Park in years and were surprised at the changes. The old fish hatchery is now a museum. If you are in the Lincoln area we would encourage you to see it, and then take the road from there to Highway 50. It's one of the most scenic drives in Nebraska. It follows the Platte river for several miles.

When we left Lincoln we headed for Kearney Nebraska. There the Nebraska Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSLHA) recognized Dianne at their annual convention for her many years of service as their Association Manager. (The NCSA also recognized Dianne in August of this year for her 10 years of service as Training and Development Director).

While in Kearney we also had the chance to visit with John Manley and his family. He has a beautiful wife and three lovely daughters. John took Ric and Teri on an Oregon Trail tour when they were younger and we had not seen him for years.

If you don't know John you might recall his father Bob who taught Nebraska history at UNL back in the 60's, 70's and 80's, and still does at elder hostles around the country. Or you might recall his brother-in-law Junior Miller who played for the Cornhuskers back in the 70's
While in Kearney we visited Fort Kearney State Park. There is a hiking trail there that takes you over an old abandoned railroad bridge across the Platte River.
