Just a note to anyone who has found this site. We are still active RC sailplane enthusiasts but life has it's influences and thus we haven't flown as much as we would like. We are still armchair pilots if anything so give a call if you have any questions or want to fly!

Just returned from the annual Woodcrafter's Soar In at the flying center in Muncie IN. Great site and well run event dedicated to all wood built sailplanes. Check out the website at Skybench Aerotech for the latest info ont he resurgence of wood built sailplanes.

Buckeye Soaring Society has not operated as a group for some time. Although a core group of flyers are still in the area and a balance is in our treasury, no official events have been held. BSS did attend the Cleveland Airhow this past Labor Day '03 and helped in the Kiddie Hawk Tent with Parma Hobby. Some interested was generated by our sidplay and videos but without a true flying site dedicated to sailplane activities, it is difficult to get much support or interest.

Buckeye Soaring will maintain this site on an inconsistent basis but info about the Cleveland area and soaring in NE Ohio is still our main objective. Check back or contact us for more information.

Welcome to the new millenium! Hope everyone is having a good new year.
Yahoo has finally got it's self back and running so we should be able to post more current info. It's been out of commission for some time. Thanks for being patient.
Anyone with info regarding flying site availability in the Cleveland, Ohio area, please forward any and all leads to Dana or Jim. We are in desperate need and have had a few new modelers and pilots inquire about BSS and R/C Soaring. PLEASE, if you have a location, let us know. The park system is still on for this season on a limited use basis, as in the past, but with the restrictions and public access, there are some limitations. Winch flying can be difficult and electrics are definetly not allowed.
The Westlake R/C Club and American Airlines have both been used but, again, restrictions in field usage and availability are not as appealing as a private soaring site would be.
Stay tuned for more news !

Greetings from SanDiego!
Just got back on Weds morning from 6 days at the beautiful
Torrey Pines Glider Port in San Diego, CA. Participated in the International Hand Launch Glider Festival, in Poway, CA. Brett Baldi and myself along with his Dad, Herb, had a great time competing against the world's best HL pilots and flying at the "mecca" of slope flying, Torrey Pines. Look for some photos of our adventures, soon! A new video produced by Endless Lift will soon be available documenting the HL experience at the IHLGF. Look for some appearances by your club members!!
