MEMORIES OF JIMMY...
After James Stewart died of a heart attack in his home, many people gave in tributes to the tragedy.  Here are a few of those tributes.
This comic strip was written for him after he was killed and published in the Washington Post on July 15, 1997.
Here is the letter the governor of Indiana, Pennslyvania (Jimmy's Hometown), wrote to his family.
OFFICE OF THE MAYOR JOHN D. (J.D.) VARNER Borough of Indiana 80 North Eighth Street Indiana, Pennsylvania 15701 Phone: (724) 465-2391 FAX: (724) 463-4175 Mayor's Annex 645 Philadelphia Street (724) 463-0717 July 2, 1997 When one says, "Jimmy Stewart", one epitomizes the best of our American Heritage! As the favorite son of his hometown, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Jimmy Stewart brought only the highest and the best of moral fiber, of traditional family values, of the Puritan work ethic, and of American patriotism. Those of us in Indiana will never forget the honor we have so long enjoyed by being able to identify with one of America's outstanding symbols of integrity. Famous as he was, he has bestowed upon all of the world a legacy of achievement and accomplishment -- as a film star, as a World War II pilot, as a father, and as a devoted friend. His humility will shine as an example for posterity to model. Indiana will miss Jimmy Stewart! We extend our community's sympathy and admiration to his children, Kelly, Judy, and Michael... and to his many friends, worldwide! John D. Varner, Mayor
