This was a fun and enjoyable Off-Broadway show. A take off of the 1980 movie, Xanadu, starring Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, this musical fairy tale is about a gay Muse who delivers love to his high school friends in an all gay world. But when one of his friends discovers he has heterosexual desires, Zanna decides to make the ultimate sacrifice in the name of friendship. Jai Rodriguez is the absolutely adorable Zanna with a lively supporting cast. The music is poppy in flavor and though not super, fits well with the story. Zanna Don't! will put a smile on your face and well worth seeing. |
