In the past several years, theater owners have begun to renovate these glorious structures rather than ripping them down (as was the trend in the 1970's where many of New York's finest theaters were turned to rubble). | The New Amsterdam is the shining glory of theatre renovations. Once housed the infamous Zigfield Follies and was in complete disrepair.
