Take me back. This was probably one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. This is story about a major league baseball team whose star player announces that he is gay. The themes run far deeper. It's about being self centered, standing up for your beliefs and the general need for something to believe in. Sure there's male nudity, but the writing remains some of the best on Broadway. Denis O'Hare's performance is Tony-worthy. Daniel Sunjata plays the star ballplayer with diva-finesse. Neal Huff carries his role as narrator and friend to the star with sheer eloquence. Whether you are a baseball fan or not, this is a show not to be missed. |
