Forgiveness And Love

             
I have read my bible
through and through
but, I didn't get the message
until I met you 

You  taught me to love
and how to forgive
I guess you could say
you taught me to live
       
Before I met you
I treasured my gold
but, what good is that
if you have no one to hold

What good is a fancy house
that you call a home
if you have to live
there all alone

I thought I knew how to love
but, now I see I was wrong
The love I thought I had
was just a sad song

You have taught me so much -
how to love and forgive 
Perhaps I should say
you taught me to live 

I do know I have learned
that I must first forgive 
If I want to have love 
and finally live 

So, I thank you each day
for teaching me this -
the awesome power of love
in one little kiss

If forgiveness I had none
then I could not conceive
the power of love
which I now receive
