and wishes I must make
Green holly on wreaths I see
and snowflakes on the lake.
In still of night comes frost
and decorates our trees
with crystal wrappings
on Nature's tiny leaves.
I am filled with elation
as I stand in awe and gaze
at all of God's creation
peeking through the morning haze.
I know He gave this day to me
and I must fill it well.
I will spread His joy and beauty
as on these thoughts I dwell.
I will marvel at the atom
and a newborn baby's cry.
I will stand in awe forever
until the day I die.
My job is very simple
and I hope that you can see
why I must tell the world
what He has done for me.
So, when Christmas day gets here
lets bow our heads and pray
and forever thank our Savior
that He was born on this day.
