When Two Hearts Collide

It innocently started as an on line chat

This love of ours slowly developed from that

I got up the nerve to send her a note

I could hardly wait to see what she wrote

When she ended her letters she closed with a

It wrenched my heart till I thought I would die

She told me of her needs and the pain inside

and all of her heartaches, fear, mistrust, and pride

We shared old memories and told stories of old

She was like a pink rose about to unfold

Our love slowly grew as time went along

and our hearts beat a tune to an internal song

Our romance progressed to a telephone call

We decided to meet at a cafe in the mall

Anticipation and waiting was now at an end

I was looking at my confidant, lover and friend

We embraced and held each other tightly,

to do more now would be unsightly

We got in the car and drove to the beach

She sat so close yet still out of reach

I smelled the aroma of her Jovan perfume

and slipped in a disk of a slow sexy tune

We talked without stopping all the way there

She permitted me to gently stroke her hair

We intended it to be just a walk in the sand,

maybe stroll along hand in hand

We bowed our heads as we walked along

listening quietly to our internal song

At peace with the stillness of a moonlit night

Hope against hope that everything turned out right

Then I glanced at her face, saw a tear on her cheek,

she looked so lovely, innocent and meek

So I wraped her tightly in my arms

and told her of her many charms

Her upturned lips she let me taste

Another hour we dare not waste

We went to our room and closed the door

The world outside was not there anymore

Like a red rose so fragile and tender

at the beautiful moment of total surrender

Gently and softly throughout the night

Nothing wrong and everything right

Now two lovers walk side by side

With muted whispers they softly confide

of beautiful wonders that happen

when two hearts collide
