A Quiet Path

I walked along a quiet path today

and watched the woodland creatures play

I saw the clouds above me float along

and watched a moving stream sing a song

The only thing missing was you my dear

I longed so much to have you near

A little squirrel jumped out to play

and I thought I heard him quietly say

Why is she not here with you today

I told him that someday she may

I love her so and long to be with her

and know that someday it will occur

We will walk along this silent trail

and watch the doves and little quail

We will smell the flowers as we walk along

and listen to the harmony of this peaceful song

We will merge with nature's melody

Our two hearts in single harmony
