Unbelieveable! History repeats itself over and over again. There are shows at the Big Room on Massillon Road between Akron & Springfield township. During the 70's and 80's this was home of the budget wedding reception, especially popular with the pregnant teenage crowd. There were a few punk shows here too, known as Club Hell, which ended on September 24, 1982 with Idiot Savants & the Dark (both from Cleveland), Zero Defex (Akron), the Necros (Maumee), and the Misfits.

This show features local and national female artists, including a piece by body artist Annie Sprinkle. It also includes a collection of photos depicting local rock n roll women, photographed by O.H.M.S. photographer / webmistress Karen.

By the way, the Highland Theater in Akron is reopened and having live performances, movies, and other events, check it out.

And while you're at the Highland, right next door are three really cool shops.

To the west you can stand outside and look at many Ghoulardi items and other funny icons in the window of a shoe repair store.

To the east, there seems to be a mystic shop??

And just east of the mystic shop is the gem of Highland Square - ANOTHER ROADSIDE ATTRACTION. Stop by and talk to Christine. Her shop has so much interesting local art, consignment/vintage clothing, and other unusual things that we spent almost an hour in there without realizing it. It's open 11am-7pm Wednesday-Friday, I think 11am-8pm on Saturdays and 11am-5pm on Sundays. The phone number at ANOTHER ROADSIDE ATTRACTION is 330-376-5655.
