COMPUTER APPLICATION TEST

The test will consist of five parts: Windows Explorer(Program and File Management), Word Processing, Spreadsheet, PowerPoint, and Internet.

Windows: (20 Points)

1. Start with a flash drive, if you have one handy. If not, it is a good idea to get one.
2. Create five folders on the flash disk. The four folders should be named as follows:
A. Word
B. Excel
C. Internet
D. PowerPoint
E. First Initial of your first name, followed by your last name (i.e. jgreene)

Word Processing: (20 Points)

1. Download the file named "letter".

(Choose the option to save it to flash drive).
2. Make the necessary changes to Letter to make it an attractive document.
(Format it in an attractive style)
3. Add the current date to the top and your name to the bottom of the letter.
4. Spell check the document and check it for proper grammar.
5. Save the corrected document to the Word Folder on the flash drive.
6. Print the file.

Spreadsheet: (20 Points)

1. Download the file named "sprdshet".
To Download the file Click here
(Choose the option to save it to disk).
2. Make the necessary changes to spreadsheet to make it an attractive document.
3. Add the current date and your name.
4. Insert the proper formulas to the appropriate cells.
5. Add any other formatting to make the document look more attractive.
6. Save the corrected document to the Excel Folder on the flash drive.
7. Print the document

PowerPoint: (20 Points)

1. Create a 5 or 6 slide Autobiographical Presentation. The Title slide should include your name, address, phone, and e-mail information.
2. The remaining slides should tell your audience about your educational, personal, and professional accomplishments.
3. Print the slide show (6 slides per page).

Internet: (20 Points)

1. Launch Microsoft Internet Explorer or your Browser of choice.
2. Go to the Web Site http://www.fool.com and browse the site for approx. five minutes. 3. Describe what you learned in a paragraph or two. Save it in a text file to the Internet folder on the flash drive. Name the file "Fool". 4. Do a search for places on the Net where you can find subjects related to "Art". List those sites in a text file in the Internet Folder on the flash drive. Name the file "Sites". Print a copy of "Fool" and "Sites".
