Gas City Man Dead

Fred Minder, former residence of Gas City, Kas.,  who had cardiatic heart asthma since the first of November, later developing to dropsy and paralysis, died at his home sixteen miles southwest of Lamar, Colo. March 12, 1917 at 11 o'clock a.m.
Funeral services were held at his residence at 10 o'clock a.m. March 13th, also at the Christain church of Lamar, at 2 o'clock p.m. conducted by Rev R. A. Staley. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery of Lamar.
Fred Minder was born in Nauvoo, Ill., March 13th, 1853. After purchasing a 160-acre farm in Calhoun county, Iowa in 1881 was married to Sallie Eliza Wilcox, daughter of Walter M. Wilcox of Calhoun county. To this union ten children where born. He resided there until 1892, at that time removing to Sac City, Sac county, Iowa where he established The Garfield Foundry and Machine Shop. Residing there until 1903, he then moved with his foundry and machine shop to Gas City, near Iola, Kansas, conducted it there until 1911, then filing on a 320-acre homestead in Prowers county, Colo., resided there until his death.
A widow and nine children survive the deceased Mrs. Lillie Geery of Belingham, Wash., Mrs. Nettie Blair of Collinsville, Okla., and Mrs. Emma Wilson, residing thirteen miles south of Lamar: Messrs. Fred, Ray and Roy, and the Misses Clara, Susie and Jennie Minder, All but Ray reside on their claims nearby.
