Personal Photographs
While teaching at Savio High School in East Boston, I met quite a few cool people, including Mike Odiotti (above left) and Dom Manzo (above center). This photo was taken by my good friend Dom Conte on Columbus Day, 2000, as we stand on Chelsea Street during the parade.
I worked at the Salesian Boys & Girls Club for 13 years and Melissa Deveau was part of our staff for the last few of those. She was a big help. The above photo was taken in the mid-1990s, when Melissa was the Club's youth of the year, and the two of us drove out to Worcester to participate in the New England regional youth of the year awards.
The Savio Drama Society, one of the finest activities offered at Savio Prep High School, has been a joy to watch. Moderator Patrick Foley (front row, third from left) has done an amazing job with minimal resources. The highlight for me was watching the students perform "Ex Nihil" -- written by then-senior Ryan Fielding (standing in the center) -- in state competition. It was phenomenal. Here I am (far right) with the "Ex Nihil" cast and crew on the Savio stage.
While at Savio, one of the duties I took on was running the junior/senior prom each year. Here is a photo of me and a number of my wonderful students from the class of 2001 at their prom on May 25, 2001, at the Harborside Hyatt in East Boston.

I have been leading young people up Mount Monadnock in southwestern New Hampshire for years, and I enjoy the trek each time. Here I am at the summit with Savio High School students Lydia Rainville, Tara Rachel and Chris Carr in the spring of 2002. They were all excellent climbers and we had a wonderful day.
