Counsel                                           (October 2002)

You counsel me to charge ahead,
carpe diem, dont snooze and lose.
You say that I should do the deed,
let it all ride and face the truth.

You seem to think its quite simple
a hunk of cake, a slice of pie
to douse all doubts and firmly pull
a trigger I fear may backfire.

Instead, I mope and pout and pine
as I dismiss all your advice,
avoiding action like the Dane
holding out for the slightest chance.
