I have an account with this service using the id jimcmillan,
also, I have an associated local pstn number 858-201-6758.  This service has good voice quality and is a good deal.  $8 for unlimited US and Canada calls with most european and asian countries at one US cent per minute.  The peering number is 452.
www.voxcee.com
I have an account here. It is really cheap per minute. 1.1 cents US and a little more for calls to europe , but quality leaves something to be desired.
Here is the bandwidth usage for some codecs
G.729 - 8 kbps  << == X-Pro only, no Mac
iLBC - 13 - 15 kbps
GSM - 13 kbps [cellular quality]
Speex - 17 kbps
G711u - 64 kbps [landline quality]
G711a - 64 kbps [landline quality]

Basically, you want to use G.729 or GSM for low bandwidth connections, and G.711 for the best quality (or with a slow CPU)
