Rules For Hall of Fame
THE AHPA HALL OF FAME WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1977
Selection of inductees shall be made by the Hall of Fame
Committee. The committee's
selection for induction must be presented to the State Convention and must be
inducted
by majority committee vote. The Hall of fame Committee shall be appointed by the
President and approved by a majority of the elected state officers. The
committee shall
consist of five members and an attempt should be made to locate them
geographically
around the state. Each member must be at least 18 years of age.
The selection to the Hall of Fame can be made in either of two
categories, as a pitcher
or as an organizer and promoter. Selection in one category will not prevent the
same
person from being selected in the other category either at the same time or at
different
time.
A person must be a Alabama/National Horseshoe Pitchers member
for a minimum of
ten years before being considered as an inductee.
Recommendations for possible induction must be submitted in
writing to the Hall of Fame
Committee Chairman 30 days prior to the State Convention.
A suitable plaque should be presented to the inductee. Any
member or members selected
the first year of inductees shall be designated as charter members.
A maximum of two may be inducted in any one year, but there is
no requirement that anyone
be inducted.
The Hall of Fame Committee shall keep permanent records of its
selections and the write-ups
on all persons considered for induction.
