She Won't Run! Have you ever been riding and have had your bike run perfect one minute, then sputter, cough, and not rev the next. Chances are your air filter is clogged. This is very common especially if you still have the stock air filter. This is easy to tackle with only having to remove side panel to gain access to the air filter box.. Most of the time this is all one needs to do but if this doesnt work then chances are the Pilot jet is clogged. This is simple to repair. 1. gain access to carb and remove it. 2. undo the three little screws on float bowl and remove it. 3. take a medium size flat head and take remove pilot. 4. using Carb or Brake cleaner spray the jet and the float bowl. 5. blow through the pilot and look through it to make sure it's not still clogged. 6. reassemble not forgetting the splash guard and start it up. 7. go beat on the xr some more!.

My Forks Bottom Out Like Crazy! XRs were originally made for riding around camp, trails and small riders. Motocross, flattrack and hare scrambles racing push the original design to its limits. Stock XR forks bottom at the first sign of a bump or a jump; and especially for flattrack, one really wants to stiffen the front end. If you are a larger rider, go on a frigging diet!!! xrs can and will handle riders over 200 pounds but geesh, the poor thing is sure working hard. This is a cheap and easy mod that will dramatically improve the handling on your XR. Supply list: SAE 20w fork oil (10w40 deisel motor oil, or 20w50motor oil have been used also without any adverse effects) Directions: 1. remove front wheel. 2. remove front forks. 3. one fork at a time, remove fork cap and spring. 4. drain oil. 5. fill fork with new oil and set the level to 100mm(appx. 4") below the top of the tube with the fork fully collapsed. 6. repeat on the other fork. 7. carefully re-assemble being sure to thouroughly clean and inspect all parts. 8. Go riding!

Flattrack Tires There are many tires out there which can be used for flattrack racing that you can mount to your XR. Which ones are best can be argued as a matter of opinion, and also can vary from track to track and also on current conditions. Myself along with fellow Team Narwahl founder Lee Davidson have had the oppurtunity to ride a few different combinations. Overall the flexability and durabality along with a fairly light weight have proven the Bridgestone Trail Wing to be the best overall for most tracks and conditions that we encounter. The Following list of tire choices are in no particular order. 1. Bridgestone TW39 (front) 2. Bridgestone TW40 (rear) 3. Dunlop GT501s have been used by some with limited success, but they seem to wear quickly and are heavier than the Bridgestones 4. Dunlop 752 s (f/r) 5. Continental 110/90 r16

I Want Real Speed! There are many resources out there for you to more heavily modify your Xr 100. Since I run the stock class the mods I can make are limited. There are two places that have been very helpful and have shared their extensive knowledge with me. they are- 1. Engines Only 2. Al Baker's Xrs Only
