�1: And the Lord (Yehovah) spoke to Moses, saying, (see 1:1)
�2: "Speak to the sons of Israel, and say to them, 'When
either man or woman (either could be a Nazarite) shall separate themselves to make a special vow of a Nazarite (=One seperate, from Heb. naz�r, to seperate. Cp. Gen.49:26. Jud.13:5,7. Lam.4:7), to separate themselves to the Lord (Yehovah):
�3: He shall separate himself from fermented wine and
strong drink (very intoxicating drink made from barley, honey, or dates), and shall drink no vinegar of fermented wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any mashed grapes, nor eat fresh grapes, or dried.'
�4: All the days of his Nazariteship shall he eat nothing
that is made of the grape vine, from the kernels even to
the husk.
�5: All the days of the vow of his Nazariteship there shall no rasor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled,
in the which he separates himself to Yehovah, he shall
be set apart (holy), and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.
�6: All the days that he separates himself to Yehovah he
shall come at no dead body (=no dead soul, Heb. nephesh. See Lev.19:28).
�7: He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or
for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when
they die: because the seperation (or Nazariteship) of his Elohim is upon his head.
�8: All the days of his separation he is set apart to
Yehovah.
�9: And if any man die very suddenly by him, and he has
defiled the head of his seperation; then he shall shave
his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day
shall he shave it.
�10: And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtles, or
two young pigeons, to the priest, to the entrance of the
tent of the congregation:
�11: And the priest shall prepare the one for a sin
offering, and the other for a burnt offering, and make an
atonement (see Ex.29:33) for him, for that he sinned by the dead soul, and shall hallow his head that same day (i.e. by beginning anew the days of his vow, v.9, during which the hair must grow, as in v.5. For holy see Ex.3:5).
�12: And he shall seperate to Yehovah the days of his
Nazariteship, and shall bring a lamb of the first year for
a trespass offering: but the days that were before shall
be lost (Heb. fall, i.e. not be counted), because his Nazariteship was defiled.
�13: And this is the law of the Nazarite, when the days of
his Nazariteship are fulfilled: he shall be brought to the
entrance of the tent of the congregation:
�14: And he shall bring near his approach offering to the Lord
(Yehovah), one he lamb of the first year without blemish for
a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb of the first year
without blemish for a sin offering, and one ram without
blemish for peace offerings,
�15: And a basket of unleavened bread, pierced cakes of
fine flour mingled with oil, and wafers of unleavened bread anointed with oil, and their meal offering, and their drink offerings.
�16: And the priest shall bring them before Yehovah, and
shall offer his sin offering, and his burnt offering:
�17: And he shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace
offerings to Yehovah, with the basket of unleavened
bread: the priest shall offer also his meal offering, and
his drink offering.
�18: And the Nazarite shall shave the head of his
separation at the entrance of the tent of the
congregation, and shall take the hair of the head of his
separation, and put it in the fire which is under the
sacrifice of the peace offerings (cp. Acts 21:26,27).
�19: And the priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the
ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one
unleavened wafer, and shall put them upon the hands of the
Nazarite, after the hair of his separation is shaven:
�20: And the priest shall wave them for a wave offering
before Yehovah: this is set apart for the priest, with the
wave breast and heave shoulder: and after that the Nazarite may drink wine.
�21: This is the law of the Nazarite who has vowed, and of
his offering to the Lord (Yehovah) for his Nazariteship, beside
that that his hand shall get (i.e., if able, he might voluntarily make an addition thereto): according to the vow which he vowed, so he must do after the law of his Nazariteship.' "

sanctuary: all the gold of the spoons was an hundred and
twenty shekels (aprox. 36 oz.).
�87: All the oxen for the burnt offering were twelve
bullocks, the rams twelve, the lambs of the first year
twelve, with their meal offering: and the kids of the goats for sin offering twelve.
�88: And all the oxen for the sacrifice of the peace

�2: "Speak to Aaron, and say to him, 'When you light the
lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the
face of the lampstand' " (as in Gen.1:14. Cp. Ex.25:31-39; 37:17-24).
�3: And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over
against the the face of the lampstand, as Yehovah commanded Moses.
�4: And this work of the lampstand was of beaten gold, and
the shaft thereof, and the flowers thereof, was beaten
work: according to the pattern which Yehovah had showed
Moses, so he made the lampstand.
�5: And the Lord (Yehovah) spoke to Moses, saying,
�6: "Take the Levites from among the sons of Israel, and
cleanse them.
�7: And thus shall you do to them, to cleanse them:
Sprinkle water of purifying upon them (=sin water, i.e. water prepared as in Chapter 19), and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.
�8: Then let them take a young bullock with his meal
offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another
young bullock shall you take for a sin offering.
�9: And you shall bring the Levites before the tent of
meeting: and you shall gather the whole assembly of the
sons of Israel together:
�10: And you shall bring the Levites before Yehovah: and
the sons of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:
�11: And Aaron shall offer (Heb. =wave, see Ex.29:27) the Levites before Yehovah for a wave offering of the sons of Israel, that they may perform the solemn service of Yehovah.
�12: And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads
of the bullocks: and you shall prepare the one for a sin
offering, and the other for a burnt offering, to Yehovah,
to make an atonement for the Levites (see 29:33).
�13: And you shall set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and wave them for a wave offering to the Lord (Yehovah).
�14: Thus shall you separate the Levites from among the
sons of Israel: and the Levites shall be Mine (cp.3:45).
�15: And after that shall the Levites go in to do the
service of the tent of the congregation: and you
shall cleanse them, and wave them for a wave offering.
�16: For they are wholly given to Me from among the
sons of Israel; instead of such as open every womb,
even instead of the firstborn of all the children of
Israel, have I taken them to Me.
�17: For all the firstborn of the sons of Israel are Mine (cp. Ex.13:2. Num.3:13), both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.
�18: And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of
the sons of Israel.
�19: And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the sons of Israel, to do the solemn
service of the sons of Israel in the tent of the
congregation, and to make an atonement for the sons of
Israel: that there be no plague among the sons of Israel, when the sons of Israel come near to the sanctuary."
�20: And Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the
sons of Israel, did to the Levites according to all
that the Lord (Yehovah) commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so
did the sons of Israel to them.
�21: And the Levites were purified, and they washed their
clothes; and Aaron waved them as a wave offering before the Lord (Yehovah); and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them.
�22: And after that went the Levites in to do their solemn service in the tent of the congregation before Aaron, and
before his sons: as Yehovah had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they to them.
�23: And the Lord (Yehovah) spoke to Moses, saying,
�24: "This is it that belongs to the Levites: from
twenty and five years old and upward (this was the comencement of a five years' probation. The age, 30, was the age of their numbering. See 4:3) they shall go in to wait upon the solemn service of the tent of the congregation (as in vv.11,15,19. Fig., literally war the warfare):
�25: And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the solemn service thereof, and shall serve no more (observe the gracious care of the Lord (Yehovah)):
�26: But shall minister with their brethren in the tent of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no solemn service. Thus shall you do to the Levites touching their charge."

�1: And the Lord (Yehovah) spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai (see 1:1. During the first week of Aaron' consecation), in the first month of the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt (therefore before the numbering which was on the first day of the second month, 1:1,2. The observance mentioned here in connection with the second passover, a month later, vv.6-11), saying,
�2: "Let the sons of Israel also keep the passover at his appointed season.
�3: In the fourteenth day of this month, at evening, you all shall keep it in his appointed season: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall you all keep it."
�4: And Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, that they should keep the passover.

�6: And there were certain men (probably Mishael and Elizaphan, who had buried Nadab and Abihu [Lev.10:1-4]; they were thus rendered unclean, and could not keep the passover [Num.19:11; 5:2]), who were defiled for touching the dead body (soul) of a man, that they could not keep the passover on that day: and they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day:
�7: And those men said to him, "We are defiled by the dead body (soul) of a man: why are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the Lord (Yehovah) in his appointed season among the sons of Israel?"
�8: And Moses said to them, "Stand still, and I will hear what Yehovah will command concerning you."
�9: And the Lord (Yehovah) spoke to Moses, saying,
�10: "Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body (soul), or be in a journey, yet he shall keep the passover to Yehovah.
�11: The fourteenth day of the second month at evening (3-4th May, therefore a month later than the appointed time [v.1]) they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
�12: They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it.
�13: But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbears to keep the passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the approach offering of Yehovah in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.

�21: And so it was, when the cloud abode from evening unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed.

�23: At the commandment of the Lord (Yehovah) they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of Yehovah they journeyed: they kept the charge of the Lord (Yehovah), at the commandment of the Lord (Yehovah) by the hand of Moses (=meditation, or ministry; "hand" put by Fig. Metonymy [of Cause] ).
