Important Notice to All Members HANDICAPS Roles & Responsibilities All members are reminded that it is THEIR responsibility to know their exact and playing handicap. Rules 13 and 16, for your information ; 13. Rights and Obligations of the Player 13.9 Prior to playing in any competition ascertain whether all appropriate reductions to playing Handicap have been made or alternatively comply with the obligations set out in clause 16.11 16 Alteration of Handicaps 16.11 If a player returns a Qualifying score below his playing handicap at his home club and is unable to ascertain whether or not his playing handicap his has been reduced as a result of the scores, he shall, before playing in another competition, make such a reduction to his handicap as shall be appropriate under the system by applying the competition scratch score to calculate his net differential and handicap reduction. Should a player not know his exact handicap, such a reduction should be made from his playing handicap less 0.5, (e.g. if his playing handicap is 11 then reduction should be made from 10.5). A copy of these guidelines will be posted at the head of the Handicap page on the website. Members should also be aware that it is there sole responsibility to notify the Match Secretary if they have played in any away games, Opens etc. Members must find out the CCS for that day of open competition. Failure to do so could lead to the suspension of their handicap. Your playing handicap is what you must play by. You will be notified if you have been cut due to competition play. J.
