�Don�t bother with clothes on my account, you look fantastic as you are�
�I don�t think Tony or Reg or anyone else in the pub will say the same do you� she took a short lilac dress out from the wardrobe
Jim watched as she stepped into her dress and slowly pulled it up her body, teasing him as she ran her hands along the curves of her body
�What�s wrong� she asked as she watched him bite his lip as he looked at her �don�t you think you will be able to think of anything else whilst we are out, now you know what I�ve got on underneath�
�You could say that� he walked over to her �I would rather stay here alone with you� he kissed her back as he zipped up her dress
�Funny how you are suddenly interested in my underwear when earlier you discarded them without even noticing them�
�So this is my punishment�

�Reg is outside, it�s too hot to be sat in here�
�It is august Tony� Jim said as he handed June her drink �lead the way then mate�
Tony led them towards the garden but went past the exit
�I thought you said Reg was outside�
�Sorry did I say outside, I meant he is the back room along with everyone else�
�Everyone else?� questioned June as Tony opened the door and everyone cheered as they entered the room
Reg approached them
�Sorry but we could not keep it a secret from this lot�
�You set us up� smiled June
�Fraid so� Tony grinned as Honey came over
�Congratulations, I cant believe you didn�t want us to know, you two getting married is the best thing that has happened at sun hill�
�Come on let�s get this party started� shouted Tony
�Congratulations, drastic way to get a husband�special deal from the NHS was it?� smiled Gina
�Yeah it is part of their recovery plan, put you in a pair of pj�s make you look rough and then get the man you love to come and propose to you, perfect setting for a romantic proposal�
�Well Jim Carver knows the way to your heart and he captured it, all I can say is about bloody time�

�Don�t worry we wont� Jim said as he appeared behind June
�Good, we have only just put our hard hats away after the mess from last time you fell out�
�Don�t worry I�m never letting her go, the only way she is going to get rid of me is by bumping me off�
�Don�t tempt her Jim�
�I�m not that evil, but I might consider it if his snoring keeps me awake�
�Too much information, I think I might leave before I find out something I don�t really want to know�
June laughed as Gina left them at the bar �Now do you wish we had stayed at home�
�Well my darling, if we were still at home we would have missed out on sharing this with our friends, I�m sorry that we did not share our wedding with our friends�
�No our wedding was perfect, the way it should have been, but you are right Tony and Reg made a good call, I�m so happy that we have finally got to this point�
�Me too, I love you June Carver�
�I love you too� she beamed as he moved to kiss her lips, he pulled her into him as their kiss became intense and passionate
�If anyone has a crowbar could they separate the bride and groom� Tony said over the microphone
Wolf whistles echoed as June and Jim pulled apart, realising that the entire room was watching them
�Sorry to separate you but as best man I am taking the opportunity to say a few words about Mr and Mrs Carver�. I have known Jim and June for far too many years to mention and have never known them so happy as they are today, they have been through so much to get to this point and this day is proof that things happened for a reason. There is no point in denying the fact that June�s brush with death gave them the chance to tell each other how they felt and that despite their protests they still loved each other, I suppose you could say I did my Cilla Black impression and got them together, gave them the chance to grab happiness, you two have been through so much but have always bounced back, this is the start of a new chapter and your chance of happy every after. You are two extremely special people who deserve to be happy, if you could charge your glasses, I would like to propose a toast, to June and Jim�
�June and Jim� echoed round the room as they hugged
�Um I don�t know quite what to say, we were not expecting to find you all here so I have nothing prepared to say, so I will speak from the heart, on behalf of June and I thank you so much for turning up, we were unsure to how you would all react to the news but we are both touched by all the kind words you have expressed��I have been in love with June for 21 years, ever since that day in august 1983 when I wandered into sun hill for the very first time, I met this feisty young WPC who was so confident and I lost my heart to her that day. I wanted to tell her so many times over the years how I felt about her but was too scared in case I lost my best friend but in 2002 I finally had the courage to tell her how I felt and was completely amazed to discover that not only did she feel the same way about me but she had done since that day too, as Tony said June�s accident gave me the chance to tell her that despite all we had been through my heart belonged to her and will do forever��..June I love you more than life it�s self, I am extremely lucky to have this 2nd chance of being together and even lucky to have such a beautiful, intelligent and caring woman such as you as my wife�
Jim put the microphone down walked over to June
�You are a soppy git� she cupped his face in her hand, softly placing her lips against his as they shared a kiss which was electric, fuelled by Jim�s words and declaration, a moment witness by all their friends gathered in the room who looked on silently as not to intrude on the intimate moment
They pulled apart and Jim realised that all eyes were on them
�Have you lot got nothing better to do� Jim enquired
laughter echoed around the room in response to Jim�s comment
�If Jim and June would like to take to the dance floor this song is especially for them �said Reg
Everyone clapped as they walked on to the dance floor as a romantic song began to play, he held her by the waist as they began to dance, allowing her scent to invaid his senses as she put her head on his shoulder and softly stroked the back of his neck with her left hand as they danced
Jim smiled as he looked through the photos of the wedding ceremony as June made a cup of tea
�Reg took some cracking photos, I dread to see the ones from tonight�
�It has been such a brilliant day, one I would not have changed�
�It was absolutely perfect and nothing could make it better�
�Nothing?� June asked as she walked over to the sofa where Jim was sat and straddled his lap
�Now that sounds like a challenge�
