�I think someone is ready� Tony said as Jim turned round to see June
�You look amazing�You are so beautiful� Jim said as he approached her �I am so lucky�.You ready to do this�
�I have never been so sure of anything Jim�
�Congratulations� Reg said shaking Jim�s hand �I am honoured to have been here and witnessed this�
�Well we are grateful to you Reg, and you Tony, it would not have been right without our 2 oldest friends� said June as she kissed Reg on the cheek, who promptly blushed
�Are you trying it on with my wife?� Jim laughed
�I would keep an eye on her Jim� said Tony
�Oi, be nice it�s my wedding day, you should be defending me�
�Don�t drag me into this� Jim kissed his wife �Come on we have a party to start�
�I think most of the nick will have already done that without you, you know what they are like when the alcohol is free�
�We had better make a move then, or there will be none left for you Tone�
�You look amazing, the dress is beautiful� said Sam
�What is it like being Mrs Carver then?� enquired Honey excitedly
�Strange, good but strange�
�What�s strange� Jim asked as he appeared at June�s side and kissed her cheek
�I think you might be in trouble now sarge�
�I think it is our cue to leave Honey�
June laughed as Sam and Honey walked away
�So Mrs Carver, what is strange?�
June laughed �Honey asked me how it felt to be Mrs Carver, I still cant believe that today has happened�
�I know it feels like a dream, I keep pinching myself so I know that this is real and has happened�
�You are crazy� she laughed
�Indeed�.I know the perfect way to test if I am dreaming or not�
�What�s that then?�
�Well before I woke this morning I had a dream about today, now if you kiss me I will know that I am not dreaming�
�How do you figure that out?�
�Well kissing you is always better in real life than in my dreams, well that and��.� he lent forward and whispered into her ear, making her laugh
�I am not doing that in public, we are in a room full of police officers, we could end up being arrested, you will have to make do with a kiss�
�I suppose that will have to do for now�
�You ungrateful��.�
June smiled as Jim pulled her close to him and they kissed, a kiss that was so soft yet intensely fierce with passion
�Looks like the natives are getting hungry� said Tony
�I would agree with you there�
June and Jim pulled apart and turned to where they voice had come from
�Bob� they said in unison
�If I had not just witnessed that I would have sworn that someone was pulling my leg about you two�
�How did you find out?� June asked as she hugged Bob
�I got a phone call from Tony, inviting me to the biggest party in the history of Sun Hill and when I heard what it was for I knew I had to be here to witness it for myself, it has taken you two long enough�..you look stunning June, if you were not a married woman�
�She�s my wife, keep your hands off� Jim laughed �It is good to see you�
�I had to check this lady was ok�Tony told me about the accident�
�I am fine Bob, honest, I had a brilliant man looking after me�
�Oh yeah, who was that?�
�It is amazing that you can take so much of your life for granted� Jim said addressing the room �Tony joked that if June had not been run over that we would not be here and it is very true�.as I watched June fight for her life and after a few well selected words from Tony, I actually acknowledged that despite my protests I was totally in love with this woman sat beside me and that without her my life is nothing, the fact that I proposed to her whilst she was in hospital proves that true love is so strong that you cannot fight it when it hits�..and as Honey would say if it is meant to be why fight it�
Everyone in the room laughed at Jim�s comment
�I have loved June for 21 years, ever since I walked into Sun Hill on my first day and knowing that she loves me knowing all my faults is what keeps my heart beating, June I love you with all my heart, I don�t know what I would do without you, thank you for making me so happy and becoming my wife�
�I love you so much� June said as Jim hugged her, as they were stood in a secluded area in the grounds of the hotel
�I know and I love you too, Mrs Carver�
�I don�t think I�m going to get used to being called that�
�You will�..I can�t wait to have you all to myself, not share you with this lot�
�Well in a few hours you will�
�Good, today has been perfect, I�m so glad we took Gina up on her offer, it would not have been the same without all our friends here with us, I am so happy and I don�t care who knows about it�
�You are completely insane you know that�
�Yep and it is all your fault�
�How do you work that one out Mr Carver?� June asked as he pulled her closer to him, letting his senses be invaded by her
�Because loving you makes me do silly things�
�And is marrying me one of those silly things?� she asked as she ran her hand down his face, her fingers lying on his lips, teasing him, tempting him.
He breathed in sharply before taking hold of her hand and kissing her fingers
�no marrying you is the most sensible thing I have ever done�..if you keep teasing my mind like this� he kissed her as he felt her hand against the material of his trousers
June smiled seductively as he gasped at her touch
�Funny but I could swear that I was teasing you somewhere else� she whispered into his ear
�See I said that you can make me do some silly things�.. I want you so much��can we slip off to our room for a while�.� he was almost begging her
�This dress took far too long to get into, do you really think that I would go through all that hassle for a five minute fumble��well if you can last that long that is�
�You cheeky woman��who says you wont last more than a few minutes�
�You have a high opinion of yourself don�t you�
�I would not say that�after all you are the one teasing me, perhaps you need to see things from my point of view�
He nuzzled at her neck whilst holding her close to him, pulling her hips to his, making June gasp as he set about teasing her
�You know that you are going to have to help me with my dress if we don�t want to make it completely obvious to everyone what we have been up to, lets go to our room� she said kissing him
�You could always keep your dress on, then we wont have any problems� Jim smiled
�I could but then you wont get your other surprise will you�
�Oh yes, what is that then?�
�You remember that bag that I would not let you look in, well if you help me out of my dress you will discover what was in that bag�
�Where have you two been hiding?� Bob asked as he Gina and Tony approached Jim and June as they came into the reception area
�We were outside� replied Jim
�We looked out there�
�It�s probably best that we don�t ask Bob� said Gina �They have probably up to something, they have stupid grins on their faces, anyway everyone is itching to start the disco�
�Only without you two we could not start anything� added Tony
Bob, Tony and Gina went back into the room where the reception was
�Looks like we will have to postpone our celebrations fro the time being� Jim kissed her cheek
Clapping broke out as June and Jim stepped on to the dance floor and began dancing to a song which held such meaning with them both, cheers echoed around the room as they embraced
June laughed as she placed her head her head on Jim�s shoulder as memories of the last time they had danced to the song in front of their colleagues filled her mind
She felt as if she were in a dream, life was perfect at this moment in time and could not get much better, even though she hated being centre of attention she was loving every moment of today.
The fact that so many of their colleagues were here celebrating with them was a sign that their relationship was accepted and they would not face any mocking.
Tony�s speech had made June acknowledge the genuine affection that their colleagues had for Jim and June and was glad that they had shared their special day with them all.
