��Are you alright Jim, you seem a bit down?�� Gina asked.
��I'm fine thanks ma'am.��
��No your not, have you had a row with June?��
��Yes.��
��About yesterday in the pub.��
��Yes, I thought she knew me, I thought she trusted me, it shows how wrong you can be about someone doesn't it.�� Jim replied trying to hold back the tears. ��I would expected Cathy to assume the worst but not June.��
��I am sure you will sort it out.��
��I don't think we can, I can't allow this relationship to develop when I know she doesn't trust me. Perhaps it's for the best I mean June's to good for me, Tony was right I would end up letting her down.��
Jim said as he wiped away a tear Gina walked over to him and put her arm around his shoulder to comfort him.
��Don't say that, you are a good man, if you ask me you are to good for
June.��
��Thanks but it's not true. Oh god why did I let myself fall in love with her?�� Jim said as he broke down. ��I love her so much.��
��Hush, come here.�� Gina replied as she hugged him.
As Gina was comforting Jim, June walked in,
��Jim, Gina, Oh sorry.�� June said looking gob smacked.
Gina quickly let go of Jim and Jim ran out of the door to the toilets
��Sorry June, what did you want?��
��I um I just I just wanted to speak to Jim.�� June managed to reply
��Well I don't think that's a good idea at the moment, you are not in his good books.��
��What do you mean?�� June replied defensively
��Oh come on June, you don't trust him, you don��t trust your lover.��
��That's not true.��
��Isn't it, well if that was true why did you ask him if he had been drinking.�� Gina smiled. ��Face it Saint June you don't trust him.��
��No that's not true I do trust him, I just...when I came in what was going on with Jim ma'am?�� June asked.
��Oh I was just giving him support. Oh and I can understand why you like him.��
��What do you mean?��
��He has a good hug.��
Tears came into June's eyes, the thought of Gina touching him
��If he wasn't taken I would quite fancy him for myself, oh wait he isn't taken anymore is he, so he's available.��
��No he's not.�� June cried, ��Our relationship isn't over.��
��Well that's not what he told me.�� Gina smirked.
��What?�� June said with tears running down her face.
Before Gina could say anymore June turned around and ran outside.
She sat out of the back of the station sobbing, how could he end it, I thought he loved me, she thought to herself.
��June,�� Tony said, ��June are you alright?��
��No�� June sobbed.
��Hey what's the matter it's alright come here.�� Tony replied as he took her into his arms.
��Oh Tony I have messed everything up, Jim has ended our relationship.��
She managed to say between her sobs.
��He did what?�� Tony said angrily ��I knew this would happen, I'll kill him.�� He continued as he walked off towards the station.
��Tony, no wait.�� June shouted but it was too late Tony had gone.
Tony stomped into CSU and stormed over to Jim's desk.
��How could you?�� He shouted, ��I warned you that if you ever hurt June I would kill you.�� He said as he punched Jim to the floor. Jim's nose started to bleed. ��Tony what are you talking about.��
��Oh come on Jim don't pretend you don't know, June it outside breaking her heart over you because you ended the relationship, got bored did we?��
��How dare you!�� Jim said as he took a swing at Tony but Gina intercepted
��Jim, Tony please stop this at once!��
Jim pulled back and held his nose. ��Tony I think you had better go.�� Gina said Tony walked towards the door and as he opened the door June walked in.
She looked at Tony's face and knew straight away that something was wrong; she quickly walked inside and looked over towards Jim. Gina was taking a look at his bloody nose.
��Hold that there a minute while I go to my office to get the first aid box.�� Gina walked pasted June. ��Happy now are you?��
CSU was now empty, only Jim and June remained. June slowly walked over to Jim.
��I am sorry; I tried to explain to him. Let me have a look.�� June said she placed one hand on the side of his face; the warmth of her had set his heart racing. ��Jim we need to talk?��
��June there's nothing to talk about, you don't trust me you proved that yesterday.��
��That's not true Jim.�� She protested
��Isn't it?��
��Jim I����
Gina interrupted their conversation. ��June you are needed down stairs.��
��But ma'am I need to talk to Jim.��
��It's not a request it's an order Sgt Ackland.��
June walked off reluctantly; as she reached the door she looked back at
Jim and saw his beautiful smile the only problem was it wasn't aimed at her. Have I lost him she thought to herself?
After the shift June waited for Jim to return home but there was no sign of him so she decided to go to his. She knocked on the door and Jim answered in his dressing gown ��June I���� Jim said.
��Jim we need to talk.��
��Ok come in.�� Jim said
She sat down in his front room. ��Why didn't you come home?�� June asked
��I didn't think I should under the circumstances.��
��Jim is there someone else?��
��What! Where did that come from?��
��I have noticed you with Gina lately, the way you smile and laugh with her.��
��I was just being friendly.��
��She fancies you, she told me.��
Jim laughed ��Oh June now you are imagining things and anyway lets not try and change the real reason I have ended it, the fact that you don't trust me.��
��Jim I do trust you how many more times do I have to tell you?��
��Can you look me in the eye and tell me that you definitely know that I am not drinking again?��
��Yes I can and even if you were it wouldn't matter I love you Jim, more than I realised and I would still love you if you started drinking again, so you see Jim it doesn't matter.�� June sobbed.
��Do you really mean that?�� Jim asked.
��Of course I do. When Gina, Gina of all people told me that you wanted to end the relationship I felt like a part of me had died it was awful.��
��I didn't want to finish it June believe me but we can't build our relationship if you don't trust me.��
��But I do. Jim can we start again, I don't want to lose you, it's taken me so long to find you, I can't lose you not now.�� June sobbed, ��Please say yes, please give me a second chance.��
��Ok�� Jim whispered as he walked towards her.
��Oh Jim thank you.�� June replied as she placed her hands onto his face
��I do love you.��
Their lips met slowly at first and then more urgently, it was as if they were making up for lost time.
��I missed you.�� June whispered as she undid his dressing gown. He picked June up and took her to the bedroom and laid her on the bed. He slowly undressed her and said,
��I missed you too�� as he kissed her bare body. They made love and then rested in each other's arms.
��If Gina could see us now�� June laughed ��I meant what I said you know, she does fancy you.��
��Well you have nothing to worry about because I only have eyes for one woman and she is right here with me know.�� He said as he kissed her
��I am sorry for everything�� June said ��for questioning you even though
I already knew the answer and for Tony punching you, how is your nose by the way?��
��Alright a bit sore.��
��Perhaps I should kiss it better,�� she said as she planted soft kisses on his nose.
��This is bliss�� he smiled.
��I know.��
The next day they were both busy so they hardly had time to speak to each other. Gina had asked for Jim's help with a case so he was with her in the computer room. �
�I'll go and get us a tea.�� Gina said.
��Ok thanks ma'am.��Gina left and walked down the corridor, June spotted her in the corridor and ran to the computer room.
��Hello handsome.�� She smiled ��Alone at last.��
��Gina will be back in a minute.��
��Well I had better make it quick then�� she smiled as she walked over to him and kissed him. ��I have wanted to do that all day.��
��I am glad because I have wanted you to do that all day, another one would be good.��
June looked up and saw Gina coming back.
��She's back.��
��Oh�� Jim said looking gutted.
Gina opened the door, ��Sgt Ackland, did you want something?��
��No ma'am.��
��Then what are you doing in here?��
��I er����
��You just can't leave the man alone can you?��
��No ma'am I can't because I love him�� June blurted out. Jim looked shocked.
��A pity he doesn't feel the same isn't it saint June.�� Gina smiled.
��Right well I had better get back. I will see you later.�� June smiled as she lent down and kissed Jim passionately ��Make sure you don't do to much, you will need all your energy for later.�� June said.
��Oh please.�� Gina said with disgust as June left the room smiling.
��Since when have you two been back together?��
��Well to be honest it was never officially off, I love he ma'am, I love her so much I want to marry her.��
Gina looked stunned. ��Have you asked her?��
��No not yet, I have a ring though.��
��Are you sure this what you want I mean you could do a lot better than June Jim.��
��No I couldn�t June is intelligent, beautiful, caring she is everything I want. I would never want anyone else, no one would come close to June.��
��I see.�� Gina replied quietly. ��So when are you going to ask her?��
��I don't know.��
��Why not do it in front of all her friends.��
��Oh I don't know I don't think she would like that.�� Jim said.
��Of course she would.��
��Do you think so?��
��Yes come on do it now, she'll be getting lunch about now.��
��Ok.��
Gina and Jim walked up to the canteen and saw June in the queue.
��Go on then.��
��What now?�� He asked.
��Yes.��
Jim walked in
��June Ackland!�� She shouted. Everyone went quiet and June spun around to face him. He walked up to her and got down on one knee.
��Jim what are you doing?�� June said looking embarrassed. ��You are embarrassing me get up.��
��June, you know I love you with all my heart.��
��Jim!�� June said.��June will you marry me?��
June looked up at all the faces staring at them, she couldn't believe he had done this to her until she looked at Gina smirking. She could tell that Gina had something to do with this; it must be her way of trying to split us up she thought.
June looked back at Jim and said, ��Yes, yes I will.��
Jim got up and placed the ring on her finger.
��Thank you�� he said as they hugged Gina looked shocked she wasn't expecting her to say yes at all; she walked up to them and said ��congratulations.��
��Thanks�� June replied with a big grin
Gina then hugged her and whispered ��Looks like you won this battle, but it's my turn next time.��
June smiled as she watched Gina leave the canteen. She walked up to Jim
��Jim I love you.��
��And I love you Mrs Carver to be.��
June smiled as she began to dream about what the future held for them both.
