�You still in a mood with me?� she asked as she took her top of it�s hanger and put it on
�I�m not in a mood with you�
�You are you have hardly said two words to me since we left work, what�s wrong?�

�Is this all because I didn�t want to go out for a meal?�
�Just drop it June, now is not the time to be having a full scale argument, I know where I stand so lets leave it at that, lets just got to the party and carry on with part two of today�s little show�

�Childish? All I want to do is tell the world that I love you, say to my friends that you are the person that makes me happy, if that is being childish June then I�m sorry that I am behaving like a child but until the day I can tell the world I will continue to be childish�
Jim put a drink down in front of June and walked away
�What�s wrong with him?� asked Craig
�Don�t know�.anyway why should I know what�s bugging him?�
�Sorry, just asking, thought you might know, you two are practically inseparable these days�
�Why does everyone say that�
�Well you are a bit of a double act, where one is the other tends to pop up too�
�What are you insinuating Craig?�
�Nothing June�
�Jim and I have been friends for over 18 years, we are good friends, we know each other extremely well, there is nothing more to our relationship than that�
�Whatever you say June�
Jim smiled as June put her hand to his face
�Does this mean that I can�t be childish any more�
�You and being childish run parallel with each other, you are the biggest kid I know�
�I feel like a kid at Christmas at the moment, tell me I was not dreaming, that you did say those words and this is happening�
�I love you Jim Carver and this is happening�
She captured his lips with hers, kissing him softly and possessively, sending a shiver down his spine. She noted his sharp intake of breath as he pulled her into him, allowing her to feel the physical effect her actions and public declaration had had on him.
�Why don�t we go home, I know I have some major grovelling to do to make up for my treatment of you today�
He kissed her forehead �You have nothing to make up for after this, I love you so much�
�Well why don�t we slip away, I have got plans for you�
�That sounds good��..Do you realise that everyone is looking at us�
�Yep and I don�t care one little bit, they will get used to it and if they don�t like it they can lump it�
�June are you drunk�
�No I am extremely sober when it comes to loving you�
�Then how come this morning you would not even consider dinner in case someone saw us and worked it out and now you don�t care who knows, what changed�
�I�m not too sure, I suppose I was being childish too, all I know is that I saw how unhappy you were and it hurt me to think that I was the reason you were so unhappy and I wanted to put things right�
�Well I�m so glad you did, I don�t have to lie to people anymore when they ask what has put the grin on my face, what has made me so happy, I love you so much and�..�
Before Jim could complete his sentence June kissed him passionately, invading every inch of him, his senses being invaded by her as they forgot the public setting and allowed their pent up emotions to ignite the passion between them, which had been intensified by the friction between them
June tipped her head back and they fell against the wall as Jim kissed her neck and whispered into her ear
�I want to go home, I want you and I think we have a party to continue that would be better without an audience�
�That sounds like a good idea, I don�t want this feeling to end�
Jim laughed �Well Ms Ackland, I will try my best to make sure that it doesn�t�
�Don�t make promises you can�t keep�
�You cheeky woman, I have never heard you complain before about my performance, I have heard you make some noises but I didn�t realise that they were ones of complaint�
�I�m not saying anything, you might hold me to it� she said raising her eyebrow and smiling seductively
�Now that sounds like an offer I can�t refuse�
Gina, Craig and Tony watched Jim place June�s jacket over her shoulders and plant a kiss on her neck as she ran her hand across his neck and stroked it gently
�It�s enough to make you vomit� Gina remarked as she took a sip of her whiskey
�In more ways than one�
�What do you mean by that Tony�
�Ignore him, he�s drunk� Craig said trying to prevent Gina digging for information form Tony who clearly was the only person who knew of the relationship previously
�No I have a feeling that St June has been up to something rather unsaintly with one of her PC�s, I think Tony also knows more about their dalliance than the rest of us here do�
�Thy have been up to a lot of unsaintly things together recently ma�am, and you know who are your true friends when two of them start sleeping together�
Craig watched Tony walking away �There goes one unhappy man, perhaps he wishes he was Jim�
�Oh please, it is bad enough know that June and Jim are at it without thinking that June Ackland is the object of desire for the mature men of Sun Hill, next thing you will be saying that Reg fancies her as well�
�Now who is being stupid�
Jim kissed June�s forehead as she kissed his chest before lying against him, he wrapped hi arms around her as they lay on the sofa
�Still think we made the right decision?� Jim asked as she covered there bodies with a blanket
�Yeah, I think it was, don�t quite know what the reaction is going to be at work�
�Well my dear, that is something you are going to have to face on you own tomorrow� Jim said with a smug grin on his face
�I�m sure that people will give you hassle when you next go into work James, I have the feeling that we are going to be a source of gossip for a long time�
�Indeed, we have now also got thousands of pairs of eyes watching every move we make�
June ran her hand across Jim�s thigh and smiled as Jim gasped �I do hope they aren�t watching every move, there are some things I would rather do without an audience�
�And what might that be�..I think you might have to take me by the hand and show me what to do�

Jim kissed her shoulder as they relaxed and allowed sleep to overtake their bodies, it hade been a strange day.
For Jim it was the happiest day of his life, he had finally heard June say those three little words that he had waited to hear, he had spent so much of the day wondering how longer their relationship could remain undetected as his feeling for her were becoming stronger and more intense by the day.
He could not be sure until he heard those three words that June shared the same feelings as he did and perhaps her reluctance to go public was due to her feeling for him, but after tonight there was nothing to doubt her feelings for him
For June the confrontation with Tony had caused to stop denying to herself that she was head over heels in Jim and to stop her allowing her brain to override what her heart was telling her.
She had been aware of how strong Tony�s resentment towards Jim was and the effect it could have on their relationship as friends but she had been unaware of how bitter he was towards them as a couple. She realised that having Tony as the holder of their secret could have caused a major fallout around Sun Hill if he chose share the information with everyone during a argument with Jim.
Her only concerns now where how their colleagues would react to them as a couple after so many years as friends
She loved the man lying next to her and was determined that no one would ruin things for them
