Jim pulled his ringing mobile from his phone, noticing it was June calling him he walked away slightly from Sam

Jim put his phone in his pocket and turned round
�You sure everything is ok�.. Do you want to talk�
Sam put two cups of tea on the table and Jim gave her a half-smile

�She is having a biopsy, Jim found a lump in June�s breast�

�Don�t worry if he asks Jim is investigating something for me, I will speak to the DCI, I doubt if they are going to be around for a couple of days, I do hope it isn�t bad news�

Jim held June�s hand as she woke up, she smiled seeing her husband

�Rough�.better now I have seen you, I�m so glad that I have got you, I couldn�t face this one my own�

�What did the doctors say?�
�They think they have removed all of the lump, we just have to wait and see, I should let Gina know where you are�

A few days later Jim and June were sat opposite the consultant, the past 48 hours had been unbearable as they were on tenterhooks waiting to find out the results
�Mrs & Mr Carver, sorry that you have been kept waiting�
Dr Simons looked down at June�s notes and then back at them
�We have got the results back from your biopsy�.I�m sorry but it is cancer�
�What happens next� June asked trying to keep control of her emotions
�We will need to do a few more tests over the next few days, all of which can be done as an outpatient, once we know the results of these we will be able to tell if the cancer has spread further than your breast or if we have detected early enough, we will then be able to commence the appropriate treatment, whether you will need chemotherapy'
