Jim smiled at June as he saw her getting dressed for work, she looked at him, his eyes were still heavy with sleep
Sorry sweetheart did I wake you?
No dont worry
Good she smiled as she walked over to him and kissed him softly Why dont you go back to sleep
Ive got a better idea.......why dont you come back to bed, stay here with me
She tapped his nose Will you behave Mr Carver...it is a very tempting offer........but I have to go to work

Jim cupped her face with his hand We could ring in sick, say we have come home with stomach bugs
Jim we saw half the nick last night at the pub, they wont believe us
You are such a spoilsport Mrs Carver
They kissed passionately, he pulled her down to him and set about planting delicate kisses on her neck and collar bone, desperately trying to persuade his wife to stay with him a bit longer
Jim this is not fair she groaned as her husbands hands roamed her body
Ive got three hours before I have to go to work, I need to do something to pass the time
This is unfair, I have to be there in 45 minutes...........I promise that we will continue this conversation when you get home from work
Can I have that in writing before you leave for work and abandon me
You already have She got up from the bed, straightened her clothing and noticed the puzzled expression on his face That band of gold on your left hand is as good as a contract
He smiled as she left the bedroom

June got out of her car and looked up at Sun Hill, it had been just over three months since the accident, since Tony had knocked her down. An incident that had ruined their friendship, nearly robbed June of her life but had bought Jim and June back together forever.
Tony had been cleared of any wrong doing but the damage had already been done, Jim and June had dealt with the situation as a couple but their friendship with Tony was beyond repair, they had last spoken at the wedding.
Tony had tried to make June change her mind about marrying Jim, saying that it was reaction to the situation and that Jim would hurt her again. These words blew the final shards of this fragile friendship apart for good.
Tonys presence at the wedding had unsettled them but they had invited him as a gesture of goodwill, June was unsure how it would effect her professional relationship with Tony, she had yet to return to the station and was now on restricted duties for the next month and was nervous about her return.
Her and Jim had many conversations about her worries about her job, he had been so supportive to her, he knew the issues she had to overcome before she could truly make a decision about her future.

No need to ask why you have a smile on your face a voice said from behind her
I dont know what you mean Inspector June smiled
Now now Sgt Ackland or should that be Mrs Carver, you know what I mean, I can see that married life is doing you the world of good
Its great, cant quite explain it but yeah
Well you obviously had a good time when you were away
What makes you say that? June asked rather puzzled
Well for someone who has been somewhere hot and sunny for a fortnight you are looking really pale
It was a nice break, we had a chance to talk and put things behind us, move on and we........
I really dont want to know
You were the one who started this conversation June laughed as they entered the building

Jim stood in the doorway of the sergeants office watching June as she stood rummaging in the filing cabinet, CID was quiet so Jim took the chance to seek out his wife as he was concerned about her returning to work, he knew her doubts regarding her career. He knew that Sun Hill ran through her  veins and it was her rightful place to be, not at home playing the housewife, that was not the June he loved but deep down he knew that sooner or later her passion for the job would return once she had moved on from the incident.
Jim watched as she stretched out before shutting one draw and opening another, he could still not believe that this woman stood infront of him was finally his wife.
Rob, Phil and Ken had spent most of the morning making jokes at Jims expense and was fed up with them.

He walked up behind June and placed his arms around his waist Sgt Ackland...I wonder if you can help me he said as he nuzzled at her neck
How may I be of assistance?
Well my wife left me all alone at home this morning, she did not show me any attention before she left
That is terrible DC Carver, been married for less than 3 weeks and shes neglecting you already she turned round and kissed him I will have to see what I can do for you... She ran her finger down his face We cant have you being neglected can we..how about we meet up once you have finished your shift and I could.......... she kissed his lips softly, pushing her body into his
As good as that offer sounds, my wife has got something planed for tonight.....how about tomorrow?
Sounds good, my husband will believe me if I tell him Im working, he will believe anything I tell him
What a prat Jim laughed
Oh you have met my husband then
You cheeky woman........when is your meeting with the super
Half 11, shall I come and find you when Im done, have lunch together
Yeah sounds good, that is if I dont get a better offer first
You wish

Sit down June Adam said as June shut the door and sat opposite his desk You are looking well, nice honeymoon?
Yeah lovely, Jim and I were able to do a lot of talking deal with a lot of issues from the past and from the accident
Personal issues or professional ones Adam enquired
Both......on a personal level, Im happier than I have been in a long time, I nearly lost Jim forever, well I thought I had already, but the accident made us deal with some personal issues where as others have been blown apart
Tony?
Yep, Jim and Tonys friendship was rocky to start with but now things are really sour, Tony said some spiteful things at the wedding, things that upset both of us
Do you blame Tony

June sighed deeply No of course not, Im glad nothing more has been done about it...it was just an accident..but the damage has been done
How is this going to effect things here, Jim and Tony have already come to blows in the canteen, I dont want a re-match at any point
There wont be sir, Jim regrets his actions, he was deeply upset and Tony wound him up, Im not condoning his actions just because he is my husband but I can understand why it happened......our personal issues with Tony will not effect our working relationship, my working relationship with him
Thats good, I know things are difficult
The thing is sir....this whole incident has left me feeling.....I cant explain it but Im questioning my career, I dont know if I want to be a police officer anymore
Oh June, Im sorry...have you discussed this with Jim
Yes, he understands the position Im in....I know we have been here before with the Monica Skinner incident, but this is different.......this job nearly took my life and I dont want to lose any more chances, lose time with Jim
Well no pressure June, you have to be happy, When you have made a decision come and see me, you and Jim and we can see what we can do to help you both, you are one in a million June, Sun Hill does not want to lose you

How did it go Jim asked as June sat on the edge of his desk
The super was very understanding, I just could not find the words to explain to him how I felt...how come with you I just know the right words to say all the time, but just then I could hear the words in my brain but they would not come out of my mouth
He put his hand on her knee Dont worry, whatever happens will be the best, you could always stay at home and be a full time house wife Jim laughed
Not on your life James, Im not spending the rest of my life washing your socks
Too late, you agreed that the day we got married
You cheeky.. Jim stood up and kissed her
Oi oi Phil said as he entered the office We aint got a licence for that behaviour
Your only jealous said Ken, who had followed Phil in to CID
Im going for my lunch as you sad pair are back
Oh yeah Jim, what sort of lunch break are you and the wife going to have then
Wouldnt you like to know Philip June replied as she and Jim left CID
No need to ask who wears the trousers in that relationship Ken laughed

Jim sighed as he hung up his jacket CID had been quiet all day but he was still an hour late getting home, three months ago he would have been happy to stay at work but now he could not wait to leave work at the end of the day, he hated spending one minute without her.
He had been on his way out of the door dead on 5 pm but the Super had stopped him, he had hoped that Jim could persuade June that Sun Hill was where she belonged. Jim could understand Adams argument and was in agreement with what he was saying but Jim was not going to push June into making a decision that she would regret. Jim and Junes relationship had been dramatically changed by the accident.
For them personally they were given one more chance to be together for life, but it was the final blow to their friendship with Tony. All 3 of them were obviously deeply hurt by this but they were all too stubborn to repair them damage and too many things had now been said, which put things beyond repair forever

Your late June commented as Jim kissed her and sat next to her on the sofa
Yeah sorry, things took longer to finish than I thought they would, sorry I should have rung
Its ok, time flies away from you in that place, did wonder if you had got a better offer
Jim laughed Well I nearly did
That Sgt Ackland throwing herself at you again
Yeah, she made me quite an interesting offer actually, but I told her that my wife was going to be waiting for me at home and had promised me a cosy night in........but if thats not the case
Well I had cooked but you were late, so I have ordered a take away she turned to face him
I will make it up to you later I promise, what you ordered?
Sweet and Sour Chicken, Beef Curry, Chicken Fried Rice and Chicken Chow Mein
Lovely, what time will it be here?
Well as I didnt know what time you would be back so I ordered it for 7:30'
Its only ten past six, Im hungry, Ill never last that long, you will have to do something to take my mind off food
Let me think June smiled and stood up, she took hold of Jims hand and led him upstairs
