'It's alright love, I heard a scuffle, I shouted and they run off, they were to fast for me I am sorry. You need to go to hospital.' Gabriel said.
Gabriel phoned for an ambulance before disappearing.
Back at the party Jim was concerned for June as she had left so suddenly after Marie had said something to her. He was having second thoughts about his marriage to Marie all he wanted was to be with June, so he phoned her mobile using Marie's so that she didn't switch it off.
The man that had attacked June answered. 'It's alright Marie I have sorted her, have a nice honeymoon.' A male voice said
'Who is this?' Jim said looking confused. 'Where's June?'
'Shit.' The male voice said before hanging up.
Jim was very concerned now, what did he mean he had sorted her, he assumed he meant June and what the hell did Marie have to do with it he thought. His thoughts were interrupted by Marie.
'Jim love come and dance, what are you doing with my phone.'
'Why, it doesn't matter that I am using it does it?' Jim asked.
'Um�� no but I don't use yours and I am waiting for a phone call.'
'What to tell you that June has be sorted.' Jim shouted angrily. 'What have you done?' Jim shook her.
The music stopped and everyone looked at Jim and Marie. 'What are you talking about Jim, don't be silly you have had to much too��'
'What drink, no I don't think so.' Jim spat.
'Hey what's going on?' Adam said.
'Marie has arranged something to be done to June.' Jim said. 'Tell me.'
'I don't know what you are talking about Jim.' Marie insisted.
'Stop lying, June told me what you were like, I should have listened to her, I should have listened to my heart instead of my head.'
'What do you mean?' Marie cried.
'I should never have married you and I realised it was a mistake as soon as you told me you assaulted that young boy and showed no remorse. I shouldn't have listened to Honey and her stars, I should have kissed June in the cellar when I had a chance and then things would be very different now.'
'Jim how can you say that?'
'So you did assault that boy?' Kerry said in amazement.
'He deserved it.' Marie hissed.
'Never mind all this, what has happened to June?' Jim screamed.
'Calm down Jim.' Adam ordered. 'Why do you suspect something has happened to her?'
'I was worried about her as she left so suddenly so I rang her mobile using Marie's phone.'
'And?'
'And a male voice answered saying It's alright Marie I have sorted her, have a nice honeymoon, a nice honeymoon that's a joke, we are not having no honeymoon, the only holiday I will be going on is with June if she'll have me.'
'You bastard.' Marie screamed punching and kicking Jim.
'Get her out of here.' Adam ordered.
'We don't have much to go on.' Gina said.
'No.'
'I am going to go to her house, we have to find her.'
'Yeah I will start searching the streets.' Tony added.
Everyone emptied the pub and started looking for June.
Tony walked along the street with Polly and found June's warrant card. 'Oh no.'
'Tone, look.' Polly said pointing to the bushes. 'You don't think they are hers do you?'
'Oh I hope not.''I'll call it in.' Polly said. 'Sir, Tony and have found June's warrant card in the park and��there's a pair of tights in the bushes.'
'Oh no' Adam replied 'ok stay there until I get there.'
'Yes sir.'
Polly ended the call. 'Tony the super said to stay here I hope we find her Tone.'
'So do I, so do I.' Tony said thumping a tree. 'I should have known something like this would happen, Marie is evil.'
'We weren't to know she would get someone to attack June.'
'If anything has happened to her I'll kill her and Jim.'
''Oh Tone this isn't Jim's fault he loves her.'
'Don't give me that he loves a mental case.'
Meanwhile Adam had told the rest of the search party what was happening and Jim arrived back at the station after failing to find June at the house. 'Any news sir.' Jim asked
'Jim, you are not going to like this.' Adam started.
'No please tell me is alright please.'
'Jim Polly and Tony have found her warrant card and a pair of tights.'
'Oh no, no.' Jim cried 'Where?'
'Calm down Jim please, you getting worked up isn't going to help June is it.'
'We have to find her.'
'We will.' Adam said I am going to meet Tony and Polly at the park, Gina you and Honey check the hospitals.'
'And what about me?' Jim asked.
'Perhaps you should speak to your wife.'
'Oh no, no way'.
'Ok, come with me.'
Adam and Jim were about to leave when Jack came in 'What's all this about June?' he asked.
'We think June has been attacked and there is a chance she has been raped.'
'No oh no not June.' Jack said.
'We don't know for definite, we don't know where June is. Jack could you help Gina and Honey to check the hospitals.'
'Sure, hey Jim why aren't you on the plane, it's your honeymoon isn't it.'
'Long story but I am not going nowhere without June.'
'June?'
'Not now Jack.' Adam said.
Adam and Jim left followed by Gina, Honey and Jack.
'I will check St Hughes' Jack said.
Jack arrived at St Hughes 'Excuse me, I'm DCI Meadows could you tell me if June Ackland has been admitted here tonight.'
'No sorry.' a nurse replied.
'Has any women been admitted that have been attacked?'
'Yes actually a woman came in about 10 minutes ago, no ID, she's in a bad way, she hasn't said a thing since being admitted and we think she has been sexually assaulted, we did call the police.'
'Could you take me to her please?'
'Yeah sure.'
The nurse showed Jim into a side room, Jack's face when she opened the door said it all, it was June. 'June.' Jack whispered. 'June it's Jack.'
June was shaking and crying, Jack walked over to her and placed her hand on her shoulder, she pulled away. 'June it's alright, the whole station has been looking for you, everyone was worried.'
June hugged herself and rocked back and for 'June please, talk to me.'
'Jim.' June sobbed.
'Jim, what about him?' Jack said as he tried to comfort her again and once again she moved away.'He�� he attacked me.' June managed to say.
'Who Jim?' Jack asked looking shocked.
'No.' she cried.
She wasn't making any sense, she curled up on the bed and sobbed. Jack left the room and phoned Gina and told her she'd found June and asked her to come over straight away, which she did.
'Jack?' Gina said.
'June has been attacked, the hospital thinks it could have been a sexual assault, she won't let me near her, would you try while I phone the super.'
'I'll try.'
Gina entered the room. 'June it's Gina.'
June said nothing 'June would you like to tell me what happened?'
'June still said nothing she just cried into the pillow June please, I want to help you.'
Gina wasn't getting anywhere so she left the room and went to find Jack. 'How did you get on?' Jack asked.
'She won't talk to me.'
'She's in a bad way isn't she'
'Yes, have you contacted Adam`.'
'Yes they are on their way. What do you think Gina, has she been raped?'
'I really don't know.'
'In all the years I have known June, through all the things she has been through I have never seen her like this before.'
'She was upset at the reception.'
'Jim and Marie?'
'Yeah, Jack did she say anything to you?' Gina asked.
'She said she had been attacked and she mentioned Jim but she wasn't making sense.'
Just then Adam, Jim, Polly and Tony ran towards them 'Where is she?' Jim shouted.
Jack held him back. 'Slow down Jim.'
'Where is she sir, is she alright?'
'She isn't saying much and she won't let anyone near her.'
'Has she been raped?' Adam asked.
'We don't know but it is likely.' Gina replied.
'No.' Jim cried.
'Oh no'. Tony and Polly echoed.
'I'll try and speak to her.' Adam said.
'Sir I really think it would be better if Polly tried, she wouldn't let me near her and I have known her for years.' Jack said.
'No I want to go.'
Polly opened the door. 'June?' Polly whispered.
'Polly?' June sobbed.
'Oh June what happened.' Polly said as she walked over to her.
'Don't touch me please.' June said as she continued to shake.
'Ok, ok June what happened?'
'I left the party and tried to get a taxi.' she sobbed. 'But I couldn't get one, I was going to come back to the party but I couldn't Pol.'
'It's ok what happened next?'
'I��'
'Take your time June.'
'I walked through the park and a man hit me from behind.'
'Oh June'
'Did he��'
'Please could you leave.''June I..'
'Please Pol.' She cried.
'Tony's outside, he's worried about you we all are.'
'No I can't see anyone.'
'Ok, I will come back later.' Polly said as she walked to the door.
'Sorry Pol.' June sobbed.
June started to repeat Jim's name all the time as Polly left. 'Well Polly?' Tony asked
'She wouldn't let me touch her and she doesn't want to see anyone.'
'Did she say anything?' Gina asked.
'She said she tried to get a taxi but she couldn't get one so she walked home through the park and then a man attacked her, I went to ask her what happened next but she closed up on me and asked me to leave. She is shaking, frightened.'
'I have to see her.' Jim said.
'You heard Polly she doesn't want to see anyone, we will have to give her time.'
'Actually sir I know June said she doesn't want to see anyone but I think Jim could be the person she will open up to.'
'But he is male.' Tony snapped. 'And he's hurt her.'
'Tony she loves him.'
'It's worth a try.' Adam said.
Jim walked to the room and opened the door, tears came to his eyes as he saw her. 'June.'
'Jim.' June cried.
June slowly sat up and turned over, Jim practically ran over to her but stopped short of the bed as, he had been warned by Jack and Adam, that she may not want contact with him. 'Oh June.'
'I thought you'd be on holiday.'
'I am not going anywhere, I have made the biggest mistake of my life.'
'Jim.' June sobbed. 'Jim he attacked me.'
'June we are going to get him, Marie had something to do with it, I found out and started a search for you.'
'Marie?'
'I know I couldn't believe it, she is down the station being charged.'
'I am sorry.' June sobbed.
'Don't be, she is history.' Jim said. 'All that matters now is you, I am just sorry that it has had to come to this for me to realise how much I loved me.'
Jim obliged he took her into his arms and kissed her head as she sobbed into his chest. 'June, I need you to tell me what happened.'
'A man attacked me from behind.'
'Did he hurt you?'
'I banged my head but apart from that no.'
'June did he��rape you'
June sobbed. 'He tried to Jim he tried to.'
'Oh June.' he cried 'I should have protected you.'
'He ripped my tights off and pulled at my underwear but a young man scared him away. The man chased him but he couldn't catch them, he then rang an ambulance and disappeared.'
'Oh June, I am never going to let this happen to you again I promise.'
June looked up at Jim and stared into his eyes, he then dipped his head and kissed he lightly on the lips. 'June why wouldn't you let anyone near you?'
'I was scared.'
'But it was Jack, Polly, Gina.'
'I know but I couldn't let my defences down.'
'But you did for me.''You make me feel safe, I love you.'
'I wish I could have protected you, if he had ra��if had raped you I would never have forgiven myself.'
Outside the room, Polly, Jack Tony, Honey, Gina and Adam were watching through the window. 'You were right Pol.' Jack smiled.
'I thought she would let him in, she loves him, she trusts him.'
'Right June you need to be checked over.'
'Don't leave me.' June sobbed. 'Please.'
'I am not going anywhere.' He replied as he hugged he tightly and asked Jack to come in.
'Sir, could you get a nurse to check June over please.'
'Of course, June?' Jack said.
'Sir.'
'How are you feeling?'
'Shook up.'
'I bet, ok I will get a nurse.'
'Thank you and sir.'
'Yes.'
'I am sorry about earlier.'
'Don't worry about it.'
June was checked over by a nurse and Jack drove her and Jim home to June's where Jim stayed that night. Over the next few weeks June and Jim talked and decided they couldn't live without each other. Marie was charged and the attacker was caught. Jim moved back into June's and they lived happily ever after
