Troop 186 - Calendar of Events  Feb/Mar04
We are located in Kingsville, Texas. Our sponsoring organization is the St. Gertrude's Knights of Columbus Council #3389.   We meet on Monday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. behind the Knights of Columbus Hall on General Cavazos Blvd.
On December 1st, 2006, we  will complete our 49th year of Scouting.    Our original Troop Charter started in December, 1957.
We have an active program. Annually, we attend week-long Summer and Winter Camps, Council and District Camporees,  2 to 3 weekend Troop campouts.
We are particularly proud of our Court of Eagle Scouts.  Please click the link to the left to see.
Due to changes in the Troop leadership, this web site is being considerably reduced in scope.  As those of you who maintain websites know, it is a never ending job and time for this activity has become quite limited.

Where We Came From  .  .  .

Our founder was Dr. Fred G. Leon, who served as Scoutmaster of our Troop for 23 years.  A highly decorated Scouter, he passed away in the summer of 1999.  "Doc", as he was known by most, used to say that when he was a young man he wanted to be in Scouting, but was unable to realize that goal.  Later in life he decided to make sure that other young men with the same dream would always have a chance to become a Scout.  We are dedicated to upholding his dream.
For more information about our Troop and activities, please contact Mr. Steve Dembski, Scoutmaster of Troop 186. (click this box to e-mail)
