The Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church in
Atkins Virginia is located in a secluded, lovely wooded spot lending an air of Tranquility
from the fast paced world of today. Easily found by following I-81 to exit 50,
Then go east on Nicks Creek Road until you see the Church sign on your right.
Follow those signs to the church which is only about a mile and a half from the
Interstate.
In late August of 1975 Freedom Ministries was established by a
22 year old evangelist named Mike Sage. Three years later a church was founded on the
property. The church was named Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church. Mike Sage
remains the Pastor today.
Through the years Christ has been
magnified, many souls have been saved and baptized, and a lot of great times have been
enjoyed The church is an independent, fundamental local assembly, consisting
of a group of people who desire to hear an do the Word Of God. The preaching is
old-fashioned style from the KJV exclusively, The music is southern in flavor and
Christ honoring with an adult choir, youth choirs, groups, solos, and talented musicians
who love the Lord and desire to lift Him up through music and song. Out reach ministries
are numerous and various. Opportunities for service are always available for those
