Antelope Island, Utah
Many moons ago, this was a place for "pow-wows," or tribal meetings of early Native Americans. The rocks, laid out in a semi-circular formation, could have been here for quite some time. Were these where they sat down to maybe smoke peace pipes? Now this side of Antelope Island is the domain of trekkers, mountain bicyclists and other nature lovers from all over. It is said that arrow heads and other artifacts can still be found, if one is diligent enough in one's search.

Free Spirit
I first saw her on a horse, galloping at a fast pace along a high ridge above an orange orchard in Central Florida. Something I thought unique, because I've seen girls her age who would rather stroll at the mall or chat on the internet. But I guess that being the free spirit that she is, bareback riding ranks high on her list of priorities. The next few times I saw her, she would be doing still other unusual things: driving a riding mower, paddling a bass boat, or bathing her horses on a shallow lake. I was pleasantly surprised when she acceded to my request to photo-graph her as she went about her ways, for she had first appeared aloof. In this modern times, seldom do I get the chance to capture images like hers in fast-disappearing rustic settings..
