| Bygone Opulence... |
| The living must have been easy...back in those good, old Imperial days in China. Silk robes and golden threads. Gilded fans as well. These two-feet tall figurines set my imagination going: like, I wonder how many lauriat feasts that man had gone to, as evidence by his tummy? And what goes through his mind as he watches the woman walk so seductively? (Note the trompe l'oeil treatment of the pedestal, painted to look like marble granite, when in fact, the one-piece figurines are entirely of ceramics.) |
