Metal and Gold Grimoire covers
Fourth Edition. After nearly two years of screen printing my entire book is finally complete. The books are now hinged with handmade iron hinges and a new wax seal with the susan jayne headstone was struck for this partiuclar edition. print run of 13
Third edition; The third incarnation of my necronomicon. included an additional 30 gocco printed pages. This book ended with a print run of 10 books Additionally, i intergrated all previously discraded drawings from the past two years.  The leather bound spine was replaced in favor of an exotic hard wood spine made of desert eucalyptus.
The second edition concluded with a 11 print run; This particular edition is varient of the previous edition. I redesigned all previous screened pages and added many new ones particularly in the polynesian and
cultes translation  section. I spent a great deal of time designing boders for the gocco pages.  The book design has been modified with  three 2 inch clavos hammered into a solid wood spine  ( this was done so it would not split when the large clavos were driven into them). .
The first edition  with gocco pages concluded with a a print run of 15 books. The noted features of this run are die struck lady bathory coins on the side of the book and the use of exotic hard woods such as Zebra, walnut, wormy maple and Hondurian Mahogany. The first 6 books were not carved with deep relief instead they are marked by pyrography and carved leather. There is an obvious evolution in design, the initial books have very  thin wood planks ,which did not allow for dimensional carving. I unwisely chose to work with zerba wood which is like carving concrete and despite the time involved in carving the reliefs came out poor.I would recommend Hondurian Mahagony, it is soft and stable to work with. Total pages range between 250-320 pages.
These are the early prototypes of the later hardwood versions, they do not have screen printed pages. They do contain at least 2 original pages and individually hand colored and stained pages.  They are marked by the use of thin pine boards and metal studs. The gold leafing and embossing are on par of later editions, but they contain between 30-100 pages and are not as striking as the later editions.
