Nike - Nike has established itself highly among the ranks of nationally recognized brand names in the United States. Nike began as a partnership between Philip Knight and his University of Oregon track coach, Bill Bowerman.Nike's famous swoosh logo was created in 1971 and was designed by a student. Original cost for creative talent: $35. In 1985, Chicago Bulls basketball rookie Michael Jordan endorsed a line of Air Jordan shoes, and Nike began its "Just Do It" campaign in 1989. All of these factors have aided in keeping Nike at the top of the athletic footwear market. Just Do It ! |
| Adidas - In 1925, in a small German village of Herzogenaurach, the world got it's first taste of adidas. Those simple three stripes were brought to life by adidas' founder, Adolf "Adi" Dassler. Adi created adidas after realizing the need for performance athletic shoes. Adidas began small, producing soccer and running shoes, which ironically enough are still the main products that adidas is known for. Adidas is currently the largest supplier of athletic shoes in Europe. Adidas, always on the cutting edge, launched their own website in 1996. The site continues to evolve, yet maintains its simplistic and dazzling form, just like the brand with the three stripes that is known the world over. |

Reebok - Reebok story started in 1895 in Bolton, when Joseph William Foster, an enthusiastic member of his local running club "Bolton Primrose Harriers" wanted a pair of spiked running shoes and he created the first "Foster" running shoe. The quality became renowned and he began to manufacture for local athletes. The business grew and in 1958 the family introduced the name Reebok (a small fast running gazelle). Today Reebok is a global Sports and Fitness brand. Reebok International Ltd., headquartered in Canton is a leading worldwide designer,marketer and distributor of sports,fitness and casual footwear, apparel and equipment under the Reebok, Rockport and Norman brands and footwear under the Polo Ralph Lauren Brand. |
