Salvatore Tocco

Outfit Associate
1980's-Present

The grandson of former Partnership Consigliere Papa John Priziola, Salvatore " a resident of Grosse Pointe Shores ran Tocco Wholesale Foods in Livonia was exposed to the public in connection with the Outfits control of the Wolverine Golf Club located on 25 Mile Road north of Mt.Clemons. In an investigation that combined the resources of the FBI, IRS, local and state police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Tocco was one of 14 people charged with illegally running a gambling establishment from the exclusive 45 hole golf club. Despite the impressive man power and cooperation of the often competing agencies over a 6 year span, Tocco ( and all others charged in the investigation were either acquitted or had the intial charges reduced or dropped altogether. Salvatore narrowly averted conviction on a second set of charges which involved the laundering of more than a million dollars in suspected drug profits. The scam consisted of several associates of the Detroit family exchanging larger denominations for smaller bills. The small bills were suspected proceeds from a drug operation which turned out to be an undercover FBI sting. Tocco (now 51)played a small role in the money exchange along with Angelo Polizzi, Dominic Vivio, Sebastian Lucido, Dave Feldman Jr., Phillip Zerilli and several other lesser figures. Now (51) Salvatore is known in the Outfit as Mops.
