82 year old Paul Joseph Tocco is one of the oldest active members of the partnership. Tocco who is the nephew of Black Bill Tocco and a cousin of lead partner Jack William Tocco, has never risen above the rank of soldier in the Outfit. Paul Tocco was one of the 17 members and associates of the Detroit Outfit to be named in the 1996 indictment charging a 30 year pattern of crime and vice by Jack Tocco and his subordinates. Paul Tocco, received a court appointed attorney after appearing in court and informing the judge that he could not afford to pay for an attorney on his reported $22,000 yearly income. Tocco estimated he and his wife Josephine "a daughter of former Detroit boss Joseph Zerilli," have an estimated $60,000 dollars worth of equity in the Clinton Township home they shared with their son Nove "also named in the indictment as one of the most active collectors and strong arm men available to the partners." Charged with extortion attempted extortion and conspiracy to commit extortion, Paul was allowed to plea bargin his way out of a possible jail sentence in exchange for a light probationary sentence to be served at home amoung the comfort of his family and friends. During the trial information came out that dispite his royal underworld leniage, Paul Tocco and his sons were considered troublesome by Jack and Anthony Tocco for their failure to follow the partners protocol and only shake down independant operators of illegal gambling facilities in the Detroit and surrounding areas "Paul and his sons were called to a meeting at the Tocco's home and given a tongue lashing for acting in a disrespectful manner toward Jack and Anthony by shaking down gamblers who were already paying tribute to the Tocco's through the services of Anthony and Vito Giacalone." Paul Tocco was recently thrust back into the spotlight when his son Nove decided to provide information against cousin Jack in exchange for a redution of the 19 year prison sentence he received inconnection with his extortion attempts. Paul Continues to live estranged from the rest of the Outfit in Clinton Township.
