"Papa" John Priziola

Papa John took over the Americain faction of the Partininco faction following the deportation of Frank Coppola in 1948. Under Papa John's guidance, the Americain end of the syndicateexpanded to include outposts in San Diego, Tiajuana, St. Louis, New York, Cuba, WindsorOntario Canada and Chicago. Priziol worked closely with members of the 5 families of New York through Frank Livorsi, the son-in-law of Angelo Meli and Big John Ormento. His own son-in-laws Joseph and Frank Matranga were apart of the of the San Diego operation which was headed by Tony Mirabile untill untill his murder in 1958 at which time control of the unit fell to Joseph. Papa John guided the stateside faction of the operation until his death in April of 1979.
