FBI# 1409515

Born January 7, 1885 Antonio Cimini spent most of his criminal career in relative obscurity. Cimini a gambler with ties to Peter Licavoli, Scarface Joe Bommarito and the Giacalone brothers, operated under the name of Tony Long. Under his alias of Tony Long Cimini racked up several arrests for his involvement in criminal activities which included burglary, robbery and theft. Cimini is best remembered for the affair he carried on with Josephine Hoffa the wife of former Teamsters leader James Hoffa. Cimini began seeing Mrs. Hoffa when he was introduced to her through Sylvia Pagano who had been a lover of Jimmy Hoffa and later carried on affairs with Frankie "Fingers" Coppola and Anthony Giacalone. Once the teamster cheif found out about the affair, he unwilling to confront Tony Long himself turned to Joseph Zerilli for help. Zerilli organized a sitdown in which he requested both Giacalone and Cimini to stop seeing Pagano and Mrs., Hoffa. Both men agreed but Cimini continued to see Josephine Hoffa in secret. Shortly thereafter Tony Long was indicted in a stock swindle and received no assistance in his case from the partnership. Cimini was allowed to take a fall reportedly as punishment for his refusing to give up his tryst with Josephine Hoffa. The affair of Cimini and Mrs., Hoffa is said to have led to the rise of Frankie Fitzsimmons in the Teamster organization as Zerilli agreed to take care of the Cimini problem in exchange for the elevation of Frankie Fitz in the event of Hoffa's conviction in on of the many indictments he had pending against him. Cimini who was identified as the leader of one of the Detroit partnerships operating divisions died in January of 1968 at the age of 82. 1
