At 5'11" and 190lbs, 50 year old Harry Bowman reigns as the undisputed king of one of the two most powerful motorcucle gangs in North America. Bowman took over the Presidency of the Detroit chapter of the Outlaws in 1970 and over the next 14 years increased his notoriety and standing within the Outlaw community to the point where he was elected International President of the Outlaws at a national meeting held in Joliet Illinois in 1984. Under Bowman the Outlaws have specialized in an array of illegal activities ranging from gambling and extortion, to drug dealing and murder. With more than 30 motorcycle gangs in the metro Detroit area, Bowman controls all illegality within Detroit's motorcycle community.
As the leader of one of the nations most recognizable criminal organizations, Bowman has conducted business with many of the nation's top criminals including members of the Detroit crime family under the direction of Jack Tocco. Bowman has attempted to keep a low profile during his reign as Outlaw nunber one living in a quiet upscale neighborhood in the city of Grosse Pointe Farms. This community is also home to reputed members of Detroit's Outfit who planned to kill Bowman for failing to pay tribute to the Outfit on time. Taco Bowman now sits in a Florida jail awaiting trial on a ten count racketeering indictment which charges him with 3 counts of murder, extortion, kidnapping and the firebombing of a Hell's Angels club house near Chicago.
Harry "Taco" Bowman faces multiple life sentences if he is convicted when he stands trial later this year. Bowman spent almost 2 years on the FBI's most wanted list before his capture in June of 1999. Bowman despite all of his notoriety, Taco maintains that he is a devoted husband, father "he has an adult daughter," and brother "his older brother is a veternarian while his younger brother is a dealer in a Las Vegas casino," who hopes to rejoin his family very soon. Interesting statement from a man charged with killing two fellow members of the Outlaws and the President of the Outlaws rival the Warlocks.
