I am a Retired U.S. Navy man. I retired after 21 years. My last ship was the USS Bainbridge CGN-25. I was part of the decommisioning crew so I am what is considered to be a Plankowner. To learn more about the USS Bainbridge visit the USS BAINBRIDGE Website.
I worked on the Nato Seasparrow Surface Missile System before going into Long Range Missile Systems.

Among my
other duty stations was the USS Caron DD
970. It was there that my real
career as a Fire Controlman started. I shot my first missiles on
that ship.
I was also stationed onboard the USS Biddle CG-34, The USS Harry E. Yarnell CG-17, the USS John F. Kennedy CV-67, USS Yellowstone AD-41, COMNAVSURFLANT Combat Systems Mobile Training Team, and Naval Guided Missiles School.
One of the duties I performed besides my regular military and professional duties, was to serve as a religious lay leader. I even had the opportunity to serve as chaplain for a Burial at Sea ceremony prior to my retirement.

I guess that the military sort of ran through our
family. At least for a bit here are a couple of examples of this:

This is my Dad. This picture was taken during WWII while he was in Panama

This is Jennifer. She was flying on a helicopter on her way to her re-enlistment ceremony while stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba
After an exciting career going from Seaman to Chief Warrant Officer I decided that I'd have enough fun. I finally retired in 1996 and went to work for corporate america as a Technical Trainer.
This is a
picture of my shadow box. Besides plaques and other items from my
career, this is my most treasured piece of memorabilia. It
contains a record of my duty stations, awards, rank devices and
such. In my case, my flag was flown on the USS Chief which is one
of the Navy's newest minesweepers. The medals are mounted on a
piece of teak wood from the bridge wings of the USS Bainbridge.
Every time I look at this box, I fondly remember my friends and
good times I had while in the Navy.
I encourage young men and women to explore the armed services. In particular the US Navy. You can find out more about the Navy visiting your local recruiter or going to www.navyjobs.com and exploring this site.
As a Technical Trainer I worked first for Panasonic Factory Automation Company. There I learned to work with Surface Mount Technology manufacturing machines. I worked with high speed chip-shooters of the MV Series. I also worked with the SPPV Screen Printer, and the RH3 Automatic Insertion Machine. While working for PFA I had the opportunity to go to Japan twice for training. This was great since I never went to the far east with the Navy.

This is a picture taken during one of the training trips to the Kofu Factory.
After working at Panasonic, I worked for a solders company called Multicore. This was very interesting and it gave me an overall perspective of the Surface Mount Process. I worked as an Applications Engineer helping customers resolve issues and problems with reflow and wave soldering processes.
While in the Navy we lived in the East Coast for well over 19 years. My other two jobs had taken us to Texas. An excellent opportunity presented itself which allowed us to move back east. An opening came up at Philips Electronic Manufacturing Technology Americas to work as a Technical Training Specialist. Philips EMT is now known as Assembléon. I achieved a Certified Technical Trainer level according to standards set by the International Board of Standards and Procedures for Training and Instruction which is a milestone for any technical trainer. I teach on the GEM line Topaz/TopazX, Emerald/EmeraldX, and Sapphire Machines. Just like before I had the opportunity to go to our factory and training center located in Eindhoven, Netherlands. I received training in preparation for teaching the Advanced Component Mounter (ACM) at all levels. Since I came back from Holland most of my training hours were been on the ACM.
After my tenure with Assembléon and due to a combination of the economic mess our previous government administration (WC's) put the country in which caused such a downturn in manufacturing, and the horrific murderous attack on our countryh by muslim extremist bastards, I experienced a lay off. In the meantime I worked at CarMax selling cars, was the Restaurant General Manager for a KFC franchise in Madison, GA; and was an assistant manager for Burger King. This went on for almost two years until I was truly blessed by God. I was offered a position working as a technical training specialist for Orkin Pest Control.
After coming to Orkin, I trained and prepared to teach technicians how to control a wide variety of residential pests. We cover all the legal aspects of the business, pesticides, and control methods. We also cover entomology and Biology of insects and rodents. I have also taught sales courses in the areas of Customer Service, and Conversational Selling. I confess that I have never been this happy working anywhere else as I am working for Orkin.

Here I am with the love of my life
