Lions Club
The Jekyll Island Lions Club is a service organization that supports projects and charities focusing on vision, pediatric cancer, diabetes, hunger, and the environment. The Lions meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month (September through May) at McCormick's Grill for dinner and fellowship.

Annual fund raising projects earn money for the Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind, the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Leader Dog for the Blind, Sight for Students, Learning Ally, and Lions Club International Foundation. In addition, the Club sponsors a scholarship at the Golden Isles College and Career Academy. Fund raisers includethe production the sale of the Jekyll Island phone book and sale of Guggisberg Baby Swiss Cheese during the fall and winter seasons.

Service projects include displaying American flags in the Historic District and Beach Village on national holidays, ringing the bell on behalf of the Salvation Army during the Red Kettle collection drive, recycling used eyeglasses and sunglasses, and amenity kits for the homeless shelter in Brunswick. Club members also join in maintenance workdays at the Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind in Waycross.

Meetings and Membership

The Lions Club meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at McCormick's Grill. The doors open at 6:00 pm and the dinner meeting begins at 6:30 pm. Persons interested in exploring membership may contact the Club at [email protected]
