Chris: Chris is in a new project called THE DREAMING! He is in it along
with Johnny Haro (drums) and Warren Huart (guitar)... both previously from Star
69. SW fans might remember Johnny from when he stepped in for Andy on tour when
Andy broke broke his collarbone. Warren and Chris are writing the songs and
they may use a few songs that Chris wrote just prior to SW's break-up. Also,
Brian Carlstrom is helping with engineering of the album. Brian was engineer
on Darkest Days and was Dave Jerden's engineer for over 10 years. They have
been using drum loops and keyboard filters, but their sound is slowely evolving
and changing thru experimentation. Chris mentioned that the sound is currently
closer to old SW than the self titled album. No release date has been set.
Andy: Andy has been working with Zoe Bonham (daughter of Led Zepplin's Jon Bonham) on her latest album. Also, Andy has been working on the soundtrack for HELL.com along with Mark Eliopolus (former SW guitarist). Mark will be doing guitar on some of the tracks. Finally, Andy has been producing some songs for bands, including the band Ultrafix
Walter: Walter is a music director/radio DJ for an Albany, NY radio station. He also has started producing for some new up-and-coming bands.
Jim: Haven't heard
much about Jim except that he might be moving back to Chicago.

This is the original text from the official site: Stabbing Westward has soul
searched and decided as friends that it's time to part. They would like to thank
all their fans that have stood by them and loved their music, all their music,
very much. They decided a week ago it was time to part and they wanted to live
with their decision for a bit before making it official but as some friend told
a friend, they feel it's your right to find out from them. So, from Chris, Andy,
Jim and Walter: "Thank you very much for the support and love. We are very sad
and as well very excited about all our futures." The songs SW was working on
for a new album will stay with the respective writer of each song (Chris or
Andy) for potential use in future projects. It is not know at this time what
individual projects the members of SW have in the works.

Stabbing Westward and KOCH have mutually agreed to part ways.
Things did not work out as well as expected on both sides, so this departure
was in the best interest for both parties.
Although Stabbing Westward is no longer on the KOCH label, this is not the end
of SW.
In fact, SW is currently working on songs for an album slated for release in
2002!
A promotional tour will be planned to accompany the release of the new album.

Andy Kubiszewski played on the new TWINSTAR CD this past fall. TWINSTAR is led by former THE THE guitarist Keith Joyner.
The US version of Stabbing Westward's self-titled album will have 10 tracks, while the European versions could have up to 12 tracks. The import singles will feature yet more unreleased b-sides opposed to remixes. Look for promotional material for the new album popping up around the beginning of April.
Ed Buller, who produced the new Stabbing Westward CD, was the keyboard player for the Psychedelic Furs in the 1980's. He also plays keyboards along with the producer Flood in an electronic ensemble called Node. Buller is best known for his production work with Suede, the Boo Radleys, and Mantaray. This From Koch Records:
Stabbing Westward to Release New Record on May 22, 2001 on Koch Records
The Self-Titled CD Was Produced By Ed Bueller / Mixed by Tom Lord-Alge
NEW YORK, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Stabbing Westward have wrapped up work on their fourth album, scheduled for release on KOCH Records May 22, 2001. Having sold over 1.5 million records to date, Stabbing Westward is the band's first effort for KOCH Records and features songs such as "So Far Away," "Breathe You In," and "Television" amongst others.
Bob Frank, President of KOCH Entertainment says, "we're honored to have such a gifted band on KOCH. The record they've made for us opens new avenues for the band and we're extremely dedicated to doing whatever's necessary to break this band wide open."
Stabbing Westward was produced by Ed Bueller, who's production credits include Suede, Pulp & Ben Lee. The new album (self-titled) was mixed in Miami by the legendary studio-maven, Tom Lord-Alge (Wallflowers, Hole, Blink 182). This album marks a departure for the quartet, but fans of the band's classic sound will not be disappointed. The record amplifies the quartet's melodic past and focuses on a more streamlined sonically infused sound.
Stabbing Westward is proud of their new record and say, "after two years of musical soul searching, we have finally finished our 4th album. When we began the process of writing a new record, we soon discovered an overwhelming desire to take our music in a new direction. With a new label, a new guitar player and a new sound, this is both an evolution and a new beginning. We are proud to share our new album."

"Yes, the new album IS finished and will be mixed by the end of this week...
it should be released sometime in May... as far as the sound of the new album...
well... we've created a unique sound that combines STABBING WESTWARDs past with
our future... it's time for a change. The new album was recorded entirely "live"
in an attempt to reflect the power and strength of our live shows... however...
we've been hinting at our new sound since the "WITHER" b-sides...
imagine "DAWN" meets "HOPELESS" meets "DROWNING"...
imagine "ON YOUR WAY DOWN" meets "WHY"... we've turned into
quite a Rock band... I think everyone will like it."

"Hey Everyone!
...and so the process begins. We're moving into week #2 of the construction
process, building the foundation to what will eventually become Album #4. Under
the expansive grandeur of the Golden Gate Bridge, the ever upbeat ED BULLER
has finally captured the sound of Stabbing Westwards' raw live fury; a feat
that has often eluded us on our past albums. Unleashed from the machinery, album
#4 is turning into a living, breathing, squelching ROCK record.
A new sound. 12 new songs. Are you ready?....
...we are. Take care,"

"Hey Everyone!
Things are heating up here in the Stabbing camp as were getting ready to head
into the studio in mid October.
Weve spent the last month or so tweaking the songs and flushing out any last
minute ideas.
Weve also added something new to our website. You can now chek out clips of
our past videos.
For those of you who havent seen them all, now you can.
I always enjoy seeing the old ones again.
Were all excited about the future and making this record.
We cant wait to see everybody when we hit the road in 2001!"

Mark Eliopulos has left the band to pursue
other things.
The band will begin recording the new album Oct. 15th and has already written
30+ songs to select from.
Also (From
Illinois Entertainer):
After selling more than a million records for Columbia Records, Chicago's Stabbing
Westward found they still weren't successful enough for the corporate giant.
So with a bit of legal wrangling from friends, Chris Hall and band were somehow
able to get out of their contract with Columbia without having to repay any
of its sizeable debt to the label.
(A rare feat in the music biz.) And the band has already signed on with Koch
Records, with new music on the way.
The guy who originally signed Stabbing Westward to Columbia in the mid-'90s
recently ended up working for Koch, so when the band became a free agent, they
were able to team up with the AR guy who originally thought they could make
it.

"Hey everybody,
It's
a new record and a new era for Stabbing Westward.
We've recently parted ways with Columbia Records and are in the process of deciding
where our next home will be. We're hoping the process will be short so
we can head into the studio later this summer.
Bob Rock has signed on to produce the new album.
In the meantime, we're working harder than ever tweaking the songs and rehearsing
them live each day.
We can't wait for 2001. Stay tuned for more info."
