I am currently a post-doctoral fellow in Center for Functional Nanomaterials of Brookhaven National Laboratory. My focus of study within the Nanocenter is on strongly correlated electron system materials. My project is to try to get higher resolution lattice images by focal series reconstruction. Before joining Center for Functional Nanomaterials, I stayed in Biology Department as a postdoc for one year. I fixed my research on the 3D reconstruction of macromolecule by negative stainning , cryo and tomography electron microscopy. I also spend some time in purifying PapC proteins and then try to get 3D crystals for them.
Before came to BNL. I was a joint graduate student between Wuhan University of Wuhan, China and Juelich Research Center at Juelich, Germany. I spent three years at Wuhan University then went to Juelich for another three years and then back to Wuhan University for my Ph.D. defense. I conducted cooperative research projects between Center for Electron Microscopy of Wuhan University and Ernst Ruska-Centre for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons of Juelich Research Center.I conducted microstructural investigations by electron microscopy on SrTiO3/Si, LCMO/STO, Ba0.7Sr0.3TiO3/SrRuO3 and so on thin films. My supervisor at Wuhan University is Prof. Dr. Renhui Wang, Dean of Center for Electron Microscopy, Wuhan University. My supervisor at Juelich Research Center is Prof. Dr. Knut Urban, who is also the president of German Physical Society.I received my Ph.D degree at Department of Physics of Wuhan University in July 2004.
Before that, I spent 4 years in Wuhan University between 1994-1998 and received B.S. Degree with highest honor at Department of Physics.
