Always Running

Always Running

In the novel, Always Running, Luis tells about his life of hardship for . Growing up in Los Angeles, was a struggle for him dealing with the increasing gang violence. Luis tells his story of his life in South Central, Los Angeles, C.A. He tells us how in L.A. his brother would get beat up in school and would project his anger on him. Sometimes the neighborhood kids would get in on it. He remembers his father receiving a job in a well too do neighborhood. The father wasted alot of the money on expensive merchandise. Soon he ended up losing his job and was forced to leave and return to South Central, C.A. I find this book interesting. In life, we never get the opportunity to see the full views of a person who grew up in a gang. This book gives people the chance to understand the mind of a man who lived in a society where he dealt with discriminated and other ignorant things people in todays world do, but has still been able to come out at the top. The major reason why i liked the book and felt it was interesting was because it is based on a real story. Its not just a normal novel that has a basic beginning, middle and end. This is a very interesting yet complex novel that tells the readers a true story about life in the ghetto straight from a gang members experience.
